Settlement turrets[]

I suggest we change the items column in the settlement turret section to what components are needed to repair them, because as far as I know settlement turret can't be looted only scraped or repaired. Nick3258 (talk) 13:17, January 10, 2016 (UTC)

The components to craft and repair them are listed on the Fallout 4 settlements page. There is a link to this at the top of this page.--Opifex1 (talk) 18:30, January 10, 2016 (UTC)

Not sure how to implement this on the page, but the Heavy Turrets built in settlements also come in a Mk 1, 3, 5 and 7 variations. And the motors on the Mk 5 units are darker colored for some reason. Great Mara (talk) 05:52, February 2, 2016 (UTC)
Each of the four variations has a different color. The Mk5 is just the most obviously different. Mk1 and Mk3 are slightly different browns, Mk5 is black, and Mk7 is green.
Also, more info that someone might want. By default, places near V111, like Sanctuary Hills, can't spawn higher than Mk1 turrets. However, I've found places in every settlement, including Sanctuary Hills, that spawn up to Mk7 turrets. I do have a bunch of addons, but I don't think any of them affect this. Would be nice to get confirmation on the vanilla game/console platforms though.
By placing several floors on the ground near an area that spawns Mk7 turrets, you can quickly fill the floors up, hold the use key to select all the connected floors and turrets, then run them around the settlement as needed.
  • Default Mk1 Only
    • Sanctuary Hills: Near the large bridge to Concord, and most of the south river.
    • Red Rocket Truck Stop: On the road between Sanctuary Hills and Concord, near a pile of tires.
    • Abernathy Farms: Near the graveyard on the west end, or at the east end of the empty field outside the fence.
    • Sunshine Tidings Co-op: Near the silos and along much of the south border.
    • Graygarden: At either the east or west ends, but you have to hover the turret just outside the build area while cycling, then turn and place it inside.
    • Covenant: At the far north end, outside the wall, again hovering the turret outside the build area while cycling.
  • Default Mk3 or Lower
    • Oberland Station: Anywhere along the north edge.
    • Hangman's Alley: Outside the build area at the north-east alley.
    • Taffington Boathouse: Along the west edge, or in most of the south part of the area.
    • Tenpines Bluff: This one's a pain. You have to stand at the very south-east edge of the build area, sprint out, just past a fallen tree, quickly cycle the turrets, then sprint back inside the build area before the auto-cancel happens. It works along quite a bit of the east edge, but the south-east corner seemed best to me. It's much easier with a few pieces of Sprinter's gear, but I was able to manage it naked with a SpeedMult of 100.
    • Outpost Zimonja: At the very north tip of the build area.
  • Default Mk5 or Lower
    • Egret Tours Marine: Outside the south edge, in the north-west corner, or near the east edge.
    • Greentop Nursery: Along the west edge.
    • County Crossing: In either the north or south corners of the area.
  • Default Mk7 or Lower
    • Somerville Place
    • The Slog
    • Coastal Cottage
    • Kingsport Lighthouse
    • Croup Manor
    • Finch Farm
    • Nordhagen Beach
    • Spectacle Island
    • Warwick Homestead
    • The Castle
    • Jamaica PLain
    • Murkwater Construction Site
    • The Mechanist's Lair
I don't have Bunker Hill or the Boston Airport yet, so I couldn't test those. I'm level 68 while testing this. Not sure if there's a player level requirement to get various turret types. These are all just trial-and-error, so there may be better places for some of them I missed.--162.252.201.32 11:20, April 5, 2016 (UTC)
Can't seem to spawn a Mk5 or Mk7 anywhere at Hangman's Alley on Xbox One. Can you be more specific about the location you spawned them so I can confirm this? I'm also only level 41, so it may be the case of a level requirement as you said.--109.153.91.243 01:42, June 11, 2016 (UTC)
