Background[]

This section is transcluded from Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor. To change it, please edit the transcluded page.

A series of books/magazines about trading and barter written by an unknown jerky vendor from Junktown, California.[Non-game 1] The book was popular enough that issues could be found in the Capital Wasteland in 2277 and the Commonwealth and the Island in 2287.

Characteristics[]

The Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor series is a collection of books found throughout the wasteland. In a manner similar to the Wasteland Survival Guide, it is a post-War publication, and the covers are hand-illustrated with simple black ink brush strokes.

Effects[]

Each issue grants the player character a level of the Junktown Vendor perk, up to a maximum of 8, which decreases the prices of items bought from vendors by about 3% per level. By reading all issues, prices at dealers improve by a total of 24%.

Behind the scenes[]

The title of these publications is a reference to Fallout. Specifically the unmarked quest Blackmail Iguana Bob. The quest starts with Doc Morbid in Junktown, goes through Iguana Bob Frazier in the Hub, and ends with the aforementioned blackmail back in Junktown. Wherein the Vault Dweller discovered that Doc Morbid had been supplying pieces of human meat that were being sold as iguana bits.
