Strangler heart power armor is a set of power armor in Fallout 76, introduced in the Nuclear Winter update.

Characteristics[]

A set of Ultracite power armor that has been completely overrun by strangler vines and other flora. When the full set is equipped, the wearer gains the Strangler heart set bonus, which adds acid damage to all armed attacks (10 acid damage over 3 seconds, not stacking on multiple attacks) and makes nearby enemies take acid damage (4 per second).

It has identical damage resistance and energy resistance to standard ultracite armor, however it has significantly higher rad resistance in comparison (393 to 500). This makes it one of the best armors in-game from a resistance perspective. It shares a modification pool with standard Ultracite armor.

Locations[]

Can be crafted from individual limb plans earned during Vault 94 vault raids. With Wastelanders patch 1.3.0.23, it can be crafted from plans bought from Regs at Vault 79 for gold bullion.

Notes[]

  • The set comes with a unique strangler heart paint that is only craftable for this power armor set. If it is so desired, the strangler heart paint can be unequipped and replaced with the standard ultracite coloring or any Atomic Shop power armor skin that is applicable to ultracite armor. The unique paint can be reapplied at any time.
  • With the card Power Smith at rank 2, only 27 Vault 94 steel is required per piece.
  • The individual crafting plans used to drop in this order from the removed Vault 94 raid: left arm, right arm, helmet, left leg, right leg and torso.
  • The version of strangler heart power armor gained through gold bullion plans is not the same as the version obtained from the vault raids. The main differences between the original and new variation are that the unique look for the strangler armor was an actual part of the model, and could be painted over with the flora still visible, and the poison damage being stackable with no damage cap. The original version still exists as a separate type of armor from the bullion version and is considered legacy content.
  • The normal price for buying all 6 plans is 6900 Bullion, but only costs 4176 5176 if every plan is bought from Minerva.
  • Due to it normally requiring 180 vault steel and 6 legendary modules to craft it takes 2100 scrip to create a full set, with the cost being reduced to 1920 when Power Smith rank 2 is equipped.
  • Despite using legendary modules for crafting, it does not gain legendary effects upon initial crafting like other items.
