* Nothing is gained if one does not have at least level 1 of the Scrapper perk. At level 3, yields are at least doubled.

Locations[]

  • Can be looted from dead super mutant suiciders if they've detonated their mini nuke, otherwise they will drop the mini nuke.
  • Can be looted from any glowing creature.
  • Occasionally found in bags of meat.
  • Can often be looted from the bodies or goo piles when enemies are killed by plasma weaponry or any weapon with the plasma infused modifier.
  • Shipments can be bought from Alexis Combes in Vault 81, but only at certain times are they available.
  • Gained from scrapping the uranium deposits in Vault 88.
  • Can also be acquired indirectly by purchasing weapons from an arms dealer that already come equipped with certain mods, such as those designated with the "Recon" mod prefix attached, and subsequently dismantling them at a nearby weapons workbench in order to salvage their components. This can only be done if the player's current level in the "Scrapper" perk is two or higher, as being at a lower level does not allow this method to be viable and will only allow players to salvage more base level components.
  • The Institute has many junk items that contain nuclear material, like the recorder, sensor, and cauterizer, in various rooms.
