All right, here's the deal. Junktown, it ain't what it used to be. The only reason it's still here is because of my gambling establishment. Even so, Killian's been breathing down my neck, and I'm starting to take it personal. And that's where you come in, slick.Gizmo to the Vault Dweller

Kill Killian is a side quest in Fallout.

Quick walkthrough[]

Side Quest: Kill Killian
Speak to Gizmo. (optional)
Go to Darkwaters and kill Killian
Report back to Gizmo.
Reward: 650 XP
500 caps
-5 Reputation

Detailed walkthrough[]

While doing the Get Gizmo's confession quest, the Vault Dweller has the option to record Gizmo hiring them to kill Killian Darkwater for him. The Vault Dweller will be offered 1000 caps for the job, which can be increased to 1500 caps with a level 6 of Intelligence.

Gizmo will ask to return with the dog tags Killian wears around his neck as proof of his death. If the Vault Dweller kills their mark in an overt way, it will anger all the guards in Junktown, who will attack on sight thereafter. To kill Killian covertly one should sneak inside Killian private quarters during business hours and wait until 20:00. Killian will teleport near his safe and can be shot without aggroing the guards. Then simply wait until 8:00 to leave the shop safely and without having to lockpick the doors. The shop can be looted in its entirety, the guard won't mind as long as you have your weapons holstered. Note that if Killian caughts you trespassing and you resist arrest, the guards will turn hostile.

The Vault Dweller will also get the reward for this quest if Kenji successfully assassinates Killian. However, this is not a guaranteed method.

Regardless of which approach is used, retrieving the dog tags from Killian's corpse and bringing them to Gizmo completes the quest.

Rewards[]

Notes[]

  • It is impossible to steal the dog tags.
  • If the player character talks to Gizmo too many times after being hired by him, he will inform them that he has hired someone else and immediately becomes hostile.[1]
