Doctor Kelly Rydecker was the head of the Verdant-Air Wind Power station established on Mount Desert Island by GDA Fusion.

Aware of the station's status as a PR stunt, Rydecker nonetheless focused on developing wind power as a viable source of power. When she tried to garner attention for the project, VP Julius Browne repeatedly warned her that she was treading on thin ice. She reacted with hostility to his replies in August 2077, recommending her to just file reports and collect the paycheck.
She believed that wind power was a future perpetually sustainable source of energy and hoped that corporate would invest in it. When she realized that Browne lied about sending the report up the chain, she sent it to the executives behind his back. When they realized that she was right, they immediately moved to kill the project, so that nothing would get in the way of maximizing sales of fusion energy. Rydecker was given two weeks to wrap up the project on October 17, 2077.[1]
