Joel was an employee of the Blue Ridge Caravan Company.
Background[]
Several members of the Blue Ridge Caravan Company were sent south to re-establish trade routes in the Shenandoah region and set up camp at Naked Creek. The group quickly realized that conditions were dangerous in the area, and believed something (later revealed to be a Blue Devil)[1] was following them.[2] On day 6, it was reported that two of the caravanners, including Joel and Judy, had disappeared in the night.[3]
