James Croup was once a member of the distinguished Croup family of Nahant.
Background[]
On October 23, 2077, he along with several other members of the family were at Croup Manor. Far enough from the blast zones to avoid complete annihilation, they instead took the full force of the radioactive fallout. That night, the Croup family was all but extinct. In the morning Theodore Croup woke to the effects, the entire family had become feral ghouls.[1] Alone and unable to let go, Theodore would unwaveringly try to rehabilitate his family[2] to no success. James would be the only ghoul to show any sort of progress, as he apparently was able to distinguish a salad fork from a dinner fork, although Theodore wasn't certain if his cousin actually knew the difference or was simply lucky with his guesses. His frustration would finally boil over and he struck down the shambling remains of his aunt Belinda.[3]
