Harold K. Clark, Jr. was a businessman in Appalachia who got into Vault 51 by pretending to be Clayton Ward, a plumber who was meant to be in the vault but didn't arrive in time.

Background[]

A board member of a failing family company,[1] Harold Clark survived the Great War in Vault 51 by claiming to be one of the scheduled residents. However, the vault's ZAX AI suspected him of concealing his true identity, correctly pointing out that his mannerisms and actions were more appropriate for an executive rather than a plumber.[2]

During his time in the vault, he recorded messages meant for his board of directors but eventually realized that they were most likely dead when no one came to assist him in escaping the vault. He was murdered by Reuben Gill for stealing his room after the ZAX armed all of the vault residents.[3]

Appearances[]

Harold Clark is mentioned only in Fallout 76, introduced in the Nuclear Winter update.

Behind the scenes[]

A brief letter from Harold Clark was cut from the game.
