The gilded grasshopper is a unique junk item in Fallout 4 and part of the quest The Gilded Grasshopper. After the quest, it has no other uses.
Characteristics[]
A crafted grasshopper holding a note, Food for the grasshopper. It was created by Shem Drowne on May 25, 1742.[1] Drowne's son Thomas fixed and replaced the grasshopper on June 28, 1768, after it had fallen due to an earthquake.[1] The note instead was written by Thomas, and according to Marty Bullfinch, leads to Shem Drowne's treasure.[2]

Location[]
It can be found on top of the roof of Faneuil Hall, as a windvane atop the golden dome, next to the ruined belltower.

A replica can be found on Fallout 76, on a stand in Appalachian Antiques. However, it cannot be picked up.
