The FO3 & FNV character stats project is a project which aims to correct and add to the character stats listed in the {{Infobox character}}.

Scope[]

The project intends to add the effects of apparel on all associated character stats in the infobox. Attributes that modify SPECIAL, and the corresponding effects that has on derived stats as well as adding tag skill and the effect of modified special on them.

Guidelines[]

All stats are to be collected from the GECK. See the associated table listing all modifiers and modified stats at Fallout Wiki:FO3 & FNV character stats project/table. The table will be updated with stats from the GECK so users without GECK access can help with the page edits. There may be up to three areas in the character infobox that require changes.

SPECIAL[]

SPECIAL can be modified by apparel. SPECIAL in infoboxes uses the auxiliary template {{SPECIAL}}. I have added a conditional row to the infobox to display modified SPECIAL. Usage is as follows:

{{Infobox character
|special      ={{SPECIAL|5,5,5,5,5,5,5}}
|modspecial   ={{SPECIAL|5,5,5,5,5,5,5|stmod=2|pemod=-2}}
}}

Displays:

Optional parameters for apparel modifiers are stmod, pemod, enmod, chmod, inmod, agmod, lkmod.

Derived stats[]

Derived stats can be modified either directly from apparel or as a result of other modified statistics, namely SPECIAL changes. Not all derived stats listed are used in each game.

Tag skills[]

Tag skills can be increased or decreased by apparel. Not all characters have tag skills, so not all will need this section in their infobox.

Comment[]

More of a question. Which infobox are you going to use, the one used on Red's page or A wanderer. Red's seems preferable.--Kingclyde (talk) 20:24, March 7, 2014 (UTC)

Is there a difference between the two? 69.l25 (talk) 21:07, March 7, 2014 (UTC)
A big difference. Red's is newer and has more info such as physical traits and behavior whilst A wanderer's does not. I was going to do the peer review as I was going to sign up for the project and noticed the difference. I was thinking being that you added Red's at a later date I figured that is what you would want to add to this project. It is also a far better and more complete infobox. Wouldn't you agree?--Kingclyde (talk) 21:29, March 7, 2014 (UTC)
Red's looks newer because it has newer functions but the same infobox, yes. This project covers only statistics-- not information like traits, aggression, confidence, etc., and adding those requirements would complicate the project, which has largely been completed; we've managed to get the new parameters at least present in for most characters. Maybe ensuring the brand new functions are completed is something better suited for a different project-- if we even need one. 69.l25 (talk) 21:33, March 7, 2014 (UTC)

Finished[]

Since a large majority of FO3 and FNV character pages now use the updated "derived stats" and "tag skills" functions; and since a large majority of characters whose skills are affected by clothing/armor have their effected characteristics displayed, I've decided to close the project. Yes, there is still some work to be done, but not enough to warrant an entire project; most work has to do with adding more character details from the GECK, which is not part of this particular project, anyway. Thanks to everyone who dedicated their time to making this come together! 69.l25 (talk) 20:45, October 5, 2014 (UTC)
