Distress signal is a radio station in Fallout 4. It can be picked up after extending the satellites at relay tower 1DL-109. It is a distress signal from a terrified mother who is warning whoever may be listening, that both she and her son are being pursued by an unidentified creature (likely a feral ghoul; see below), however the distress signal is interrupted by the untimely entrance of the aforesaid creature, followed by the mother screaming at her son to run away and save himself, before being killed almost immediately.

Location[]

The origin of the signal is a ham radio inside a train car, southeast of the relay tower. The train is, as mentioned in the broadcast, surrounded by several feral ghouls. The fourth car (blue toppled over train car) from the north has a hatch to an interior on the car's top end, partially hidden behind a bush. Inside this car are the skeletal remains of a woman surrounded by blood, a locked crate and the broadcasting ham radio.

Transcript[]

If anyone can hear this, my son and I are trapped and need help. We were being chased by... something, but were able to escape into this train car. It knows we're in here though. Thomas is hurt and needs...Oh no, it got the door open! Run Thomas, get out! This has been a prerecorded message. Message repeats in three seconds.
