A developer (short for video game developer) is a person who is involved in the software development of video games.

General[]

Developers may specialize in a certain video game console, such as Sony's PlayStation series; Microsoft's Xbox series; Nintendo's various consoles, or may develop for a variety of systems, including PCs.

Some developers also specialize in certain types of games, such as computer role-playing games or first-person shooters. Some focus on porting games from one system to another. Some focus on translating games from one language to another. Some do other kinds of software development work in addition to games.

Fallout games[]

A wide variety of developers have worked on the Fallout series. Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics and Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel were published by Interplay Entertainment, while Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 were published by Bethesda Softworks. Fallout: New Vegas was primarily developed by Obsidian Entertainment with oversight from Bethesda.
