Covert scout armor

The covert scout armor is an armor set in Fallout 76, introduced in the Locked & Loaded update.

Characteristics[]

The lightweight scout armor was manufactured by the Enclave following the Great War, adapted from military combat armor.^[1] It was utilized by the Appalachian Enclave's covert forces until their demise in 2086. The armor pieces cannot be dropped, sold, or traded, but they can be exchanged for legendary scrip at a legendary exchange machine.

Each piece of the covert armor comes with an integrated sneak bonus, the only exception being the mask.

Crafting[]

Plans for crafting covert scout armor can be obtained from Daily Ops or purchased from Minerva. They are considered a rare reward and it is not possible to drop them for or trade them with another player.

Modifications[]

Modifications for the covert scout armor cannot be crafted. Instead, loose mods are available for purchase from the MODUS armory terminal inside the Whitespring bunker, if Officer on Deck has been completed. They are applied to armor pieces via a workbench.

Variants[]

Covert scout armor uses the same model as urban scout armor, forest scout armor, solar armor and thorn armor.

Legendary effects[]

• Scout armor body pieces can be obtained with legendary effects.
• Armor can drop with legendary effects only after learning its plans.
• There is no level requirement to get legendary armor pieces.
• Legendary armor pieces can be bought with legendary scrip from Purveyor Murmrgh or can be awarded as drop from events.
• Legendary enemies can drop covert armor, but only after learning its plans.
• Covert armor effects can be re-rolled using legendary crafting.

Plans[]

• Plans for covert scout armor have a chance to be awarded from Daily Ops with a player character above level 50.
• Sold by Minerva.

Locations[]

• Can be crafted at any armor workbench with the correct materials after learning the plans.
• After learning the plans, legendary variants have a chance to be obtained from Purveyor Murmrgh and as event rewards.

Notes[]

• The reinforced mod for the torso was cut from the game.
• Urban scout armor, forest scout armor, and covert scout armor, including masks, are considered a single set for the legendary perks Sizzling Style and Funky Duds.
• Covert armor uses the same mods and paints as other scout armor sets.
• The Covert scout armor mask is classified as a mask for all SCORE and challenges.

Bugs[]

• PC Xbox One Playstation 4 Red Viper paint and Atomic Camo paint cannot be applied to any scout armor except for mask.^[patched]
  • Fixed in patch 27.
• PC Xbox One Playstation 4 Scout armor pieces modified with any material can't be changed back to standard.^[patched]
