We are proud to announce that Vault 20 has finally received the green light to return to the surface! We greatly appreciate your patience for all these years. However, now some truths must be fully explained. As overseer, whoever that may be now, it is your job to prepare your dwellers for a very important purpose. Chances are, the world above is long lost. We wish you could stay in safety underground forever, but in the sorrowful event that all our other efforts have failed to retake America, your vault is our last hope. We can't be sure what you'll face, whether it's dangerous mutants, rogue government officials, degenerate savages or even extraterrestrials. But if you follow this message well, it can assure you it's your best chance at success, and survival. Firstly, you must work to aquire control of an orbital weapon designated [DATA REDACTED], a [REDACTED] made orbital satellite critical to guaranteeing any enemies left above get disposed of. If the satellite is destroyed or unaccessible, you may need to find someone knowledgeable about engineering or train yourself on the topic. Ground based schematics can be made from whatever data is left, though without the right resources its power will be notably less efficient but will get its job done. A more detailed snd dedicated page is attached to this message, and access will be explained towards the bottom of this message. Next, assuming you made it that far, as of course stated in all your manuals already, DO NOT trust anyone claiming to want to assist you, or anyone claiming to be Vault-Tec or remnants of the American government. They do not have our interests at heart, we guarantee you. And to help against said forbidden people, you are authorized to execute at your discretion. Less enemies means a safer world. Lastly, it's possible you may have lost some friends, family even, at this point. It's up to you to make sure those losses, or sacrifices, aren't in vain. It's always our number one priority to keep our faithful long living, and death is nothing anyone wants. Now, to cover any loose topics, let's return to number two. Regarding trusting noone, that does include even Vault-Tec executives. That does not apply to this message, having been prerecorded before your ancestors first entered Vault 20. No matter how trustworthy and genuine a Vault-Tec employee may seem should you encounter one, it's important to not let them interfere with your mission. The only people you can trust is yourself and your dwellers. In case of any loss of information in this message, be it corruption or security measures, there is unfortunately no way to recover corrupted segments, but hidden information can be unlocked using the daily changing security code you use for just about anything else you have used it for. This measure is to keep unwanted readers from seeing sensitive information if this message was leaked in some way. Same for the attached page regarding the first mentioned information above. That requires a different code, which can be fabricated with the help of your vault's security officer. This all should cover most of your questions and tell you what you need to do upon leaving the vault. If you have questions not covered here, there's unfortunately nothing else we can do to satisfy. Thank you for your services, overseer, and welcome home, though ferocious as it may be now. Vault-Tec salutes you!
