It can be received as a potential reward from completing 'A Colossal Problem'. To start the event, pick any of the three silos to launch a missle and nuke Monongah Mine
So I take back a bit of what I said against Fallout 4 in the past. I was bored, wanted a short break from 76, checked out 4 and loaded up a character before the update. I had to use an old save, I think back to just after completing Reunions so I could avoid conflicts with any mods that don't work and or got baked into later saves. Character is pretty stable, nothing wrong, new quests work fine, restored some of my old favorite mods that still work and patched up the game to my liking, and it's been chill since. Got to the Institute, working with the Railroad for now this time ('WHAT?! You're working with the Railroad?! Blasphemous!'). If not to just enjoy the game, I need to do some more exploring for info and inspiration to write the F4 parts of my story project. I scraped a lot of the original idea and chose to work on a more Institute/Railroad focus, along with Enclave accents of course to keep old events of my western narratives canon while also getting the east set up for the new narrative. It's a mess, but hey, I've got a lot of crazy ideas and I love it, my problem is just getting them all written and posted. Might take me the rest of the year, who knows. Got my hands on a laptop I had in storage for a year so no longer do I have to use my phone for typing, yippee
Dressed in old elite riot gear that was a little too big for fit, a young woman stopped at a ranch. An old man was its only population, sitting in a chair. His duster patched over and over, the flag on his back faded. After taking a second, the woman asked, "Are you Six?". The man waited at least a minute before responding, "Was.". "Look, I need to get to Vegas.", "No you don't", "Yes, I do. And I need help getting there.". The old man sighed, "Nothing left. Bones, ash, don't add yourself to it. Better than that.". "What makes you think you know my judgements?", "Because it's not Vegas you want.", "Alrighty smartass". She started to walk away, spending an hour following roads to a small town. Not many people were outside, except for some armed individuals in ranger gear. She walked up to a bar entrance, going through the door to find a bartender and several rangers sitting around. She took a stool at the counter, the tender taking quick interest as they leaned against a wood pillar cleaning glasses. "Want tea or something?", "Absinthe.", "Whoa, alright, life sucks that much huh?". They grabbed a glistening green bottle off a shelf and sit it down on the counter. "Free.". "Thank you.". "Hear about the stand of Reno?". "New around here, no.". "Few years ago, still during the heat of things. Empire tried wiping out the town, and failed. Nobody really knows what happened but Reno still reigns as the independent criminal capital of the west. Everything went to shit around here. The far and few holdouts you can find, don't piss them off. Nobody cares anymore, bullet to the head is the punishment for everything. Ironically keeps most crime down.". "...what happened, what's caused all this?", "Fun question. Pick your own answer.". She popped the cork of the bottle and drank from it directly, "... ... ... hmmf".

Guess I changed my mind. Not that many of you would remember what I changed my mind about. Anyways, I FINALLY POSTED SOMETHING! :D
Edit: Fixed some typos. I used third person this time for my own convenience, I didn't like the old first person style I used write and it felt kinda uncomfortable somehow. So I scrapped the immersion, pretty good without it I think. Also I won't really be stating that the story is in the comments, these polls are more intended for active users here who already know the routine

I absolutely want to do that now. I love pissing people off. Can't though because, you know, I'm not a reddit user, and never will be

'micro transactions everywhere, battle pass, subscriptions'
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure they basically complement each other. The only transactions beside player trading is Atomic Shop and you don't have to pay for atoms, they can be earned trough the Season (or battle pass, as you could consider it) or from completing account challenges like "collect this many caps in this area" or "discover this many locations in this area", stuff like that. Now, the battle pass, or Season, a lot it open to everyone, with the exception of some items being locked behind a Fallout 1st "subscription". Pay attention to this. 1st is around $14 a month (to play 76 you obviously need whatever service allows online play so that's extra expense on top of what you already pay). But, the 1st subscription is not entirely a 'hey spend more money just to be special'. 1st is particularly a quality of life thing, it unlocks that bonus content in the Season, it unlocks special items on the Atmoic Shop, gives you access to special bundles and unique sales. You also get 1600 (I think) atoms a month per every renewal, as well as access to a survival tent and unlimited storage for ammo and junk.
I'm not saying you should purchase 1st, I'm just stating that the above go hand in hand and open up just a little more of the game. You can still play the game just fine without it.
To actually answer the question of should you play or not, that's really up to you. Get it, try it out, mess around. If it clicks it clicks and if not then you tried something new again. You could always look at gameplay on YouTube or read through 76 related pages here on the wiki to get an idea on how the game functions and if it's a style you'd like
I told you it was going to be a fucking disaster. The moment he hit the headlines the venom was already pumping. He'll take us all down with him if it's the last thing he does! Can't you see?! He knows what's happening and he doesn't care about th-

I feel like Lots-o would've been an actually great companion. And he was, but he got left behind on accident and replaced. It's not that his owner didn't love him anymore, it was just humans don't expect a teddy bear to casually come back home all on their own
Aliens.
The road to hell sure is paved with good intentions
Huge BoS comeback as soon as next post. Arthur Maxson returns leading a small band of survivors and Outcast holdouts. The Midwest make their first outside Brotherhood contact since they first got stranded and get caught in a fight for Pittsburgh. Arthur later investigates the collapsed Appalachian branch, confused and captivated by how they succeeded on their own and begins to question if everything he knows may be wrong.
I wish he had way more to say than the same stories pver and over again. It got really, really, boring. And the songs. I know there's only so much that can be recorded for it, but if there's someone in the world who'd love to sit down and just spent hours voicing a raider station host, I'd be so happy. Like, I don't want them to play average songs like the normal stations, I want then to make and sing their own stuff, be unique, be fun and stuff.
Actually, I'm gonna use this idea for writing. Thanks me
For as long as we could find recordings, humanity had been at each other's throats, fighting each other, calling one another the enemy, believing each other started all the conflict.
We were wrong. They were wrong. So wrong.
The real enemy is something we cannot fight alone. And when they come back, we won't see until it's too late. Don't fear death, for it will become no stranger in our future days.
