Maxo9, can you explain your changes? (also, please use the edit summary when you're changing things)

  1. This is a tutorial for updating Java, and you removed mentions of actually updating Java. And it can be still useful - you can set the vanilla launcher to use the Java version you want and not the outdated one Mojang bundles (it's almost 3 years old, 20 releases behind latest - 1.8.0_131), or you might be using an external launcher for modpacks.
  2. "Minecraft only loads on latest launcher (2.0895)." - what about third-party launchers? Last time I checked, they loaded the game fine.
  3. Mojang still supports Java 6 and 7. Yes, tomorrow 1.12 is supposed to come out and change that, but it's not out yet. Even the link you added says that.
