Im currently trying to play on a LAN server with my girlfriend. The server shows up where the "searching for local servers" is, but when i try to connect it says java.net(and something else that i cant quite remember).

Can someone who knows edit in the range of ports that Minecraft uses for LAN? As it is, every time you want to invite remote friends to a LAN world, you'll have to wait what port number you get and then change your router settings to forward that port. It would be nice to know what port range Minecraft uses for LAN so you could forward that range and not have to changer router settings each time you play. But I cannot find the port range anywhere on the web. So it would be nice to have this in the official wiki.–Preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.143.219.69 (talk) at 26 July 2018 (UTC). By default it should be 25565 but I am not very sure. You can post your error message at the Minecraft Forums. Hope this helps you! skylord_wars (talk) 11:27, 26 July 2018 (UTC)

Could somebody please fill out this page with more detailed instructions on how to play a lan world with someone who's not on the same network? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Sevikodkod (talkcontribs) at 22:22, 6 August 2018‎ (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
