Chickens spawned from eggs[]
Animals spawned through player actions normally do not count towards mob caps. From own limited experience (on Bedrock) and various forum threads, it seems that chickens spawned from eggs (at least when thrown by a dispenser!) behave like naturally-spawned mobs. -> Mob switch on demand.
