Oh, so this is like the Beta 1.8 to Release 1.0 Adventure Update TheFactorial! (talk) 15:35, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

Untitled II[]

If Mojang still refers to it as part 1 and part 2... why are we calling it 1.18 without any refence or acknowledgement from Mojang? – Unsigned comment added by 173.88.200.6 (talk) at 18:43, 30 May 2021 (UTC). Sign comments with ~~~~

There are references clearly stated in the article such as this and this. BDJP (t|c) 19:00, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

Planned release date[]

Why the Java Edition 1.18 will be released by the same year as Java Edition 1.17? 184.22.127.126 05:19, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

Read the FAQ. They said "and the second update will release later this year" NexaForX (𝓣𝓪𝓵𝓴 | 𝓒𝓸𝓷𝓽𝓻𝓲𝓫𝓼) 05:55, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
How about the names for 1.18 snapshots? 49.228.178.147 06:53, 16 June 2021 (UTC)

That's just a rumor. No Mojang employees said that JE 1.18 will be released on December 21, 2021. HaydenBobMutthew (talk|contributions) 17:53, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
k then deleting section. 107.3.11.168 03:24, 19 June 2021 (UTC)

Removals Section[]

Is this accurate? Is it even needed? It seems inconsistent with the rest of the wiki/page

Archeology System in 1.18?[]

Mojang Admitted that the archeology system would come in 2022. But did they confirmed something if that would come in a 1.18 release? Ex: 1.18.x release. Like the piglins brutes added after 1.16, in version 1.16.2.L7876 (talk) 23:40, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

They have not said anything of the sort, only that it was delayed past Caves & Cliffs for a future update. BDJP (t|c) 23:51, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

Warden health[]

So the warden's health is unknown, possibly the same as an iron golem or ravager? 76.64.55.165 14:14, 11 August 2021 (UTC)

Bats, "the first fully blind mob"[]

This seems to suggest that mobs have actual vision when in fact they just pathfind (you can't hide behind a corner, they'll still find you), and later it also says that bats have echolocation; in real life, ok, but how does that matter here since we're talking about a mob that just moves randomly? As of now, bats don't even use the same "hearing" mechanics of the Warden. Nothing in that phrase seems to add actual information about the game, shouldn't we remove it?Wedhro (talk) 04:11, 20 August 2021 (UTC)

That's a very good point actually. Real life is not Minecraft. However, mobs do indeed use a line of sight first in order to path-find. So coming from behind a Zombie won't cause it to detect you, until you hit its line of sight then it will follow you. Anyway, yes. This information is something you should find on Wikipedia, not the wiki of a fantasy block-based video-game where it is not even suggested that bats are blind and echolocation is not a thing. Sculk texture leak[]

https://twitter.com/NetherNinja/status/1430723580862607365?s=19

Some textures for the sculk blocks were left in the latest Bedrock beta.

This is seriously mind-blowing. There is truly so much we haven't seen. Not sure how we can use these textures though. We can put them in the gallery; some of them are described as the sides and bottoms of certain blocks. Some of them even further confirm the names of Sculk blocks. Also please sign your comments. Zegatrox (talk) 21:20, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
Okay turns out it is actually bigger than that. The text files he lists all correspond to a different texture file that he provides a photo of and they are all in order. See this and the corresponding photos in the thread. If you look through them carefully you'll clearly see that Sculk Catalyst does indeed correspond to the block with the bone-like material at the bottom and Sculk layer at the top, so we were right about that. The problem comes with the Sculk Shrieker. None of its textures are anything like the said trap-like block. In fact, there is no evidence of any form of trap block in the files. The files contain all of the textures and animated textures (if any) for all of the blocks. You can see Sculk, Sculk Catalysts, Sculk Shriekers and Sculk Veins, showing all of their textures respectively as well as a UI texture called "Darkness Effect", all in a folder called experimental_caves_cliffs_internal. The Sculk Sensor is not there because frankly it is released, so it wouldn't be in an "internal" file. The files accumulate all of the unreleased Sculk block and Deep Dark related textures with detail, so I highly doubt an entire block would just be ditched out of the files by mistake; if it's in internal development it would inevitably be there. So we can clearly work out that the block camouflaged amongst the Sculk as seen in Minecraft LIVE is not being internally developed; it's an early prototype. However, the files that were leaked earlier, which were stated to be very old and outdated by kingbdogz, mention that Sculk Shriekers are block that can replace Sculk, which is a behavior we only see with the trap-like block. Moreover, kingbogz say in a reply to the people who found the name files and demonstrated the blocks using add-ons that Sculk Shriekers don't actually look like how they are in the image, which is why he thought it was fake. Since we know for sure that Sculk Catalyst corresponds to the bone-like block, now that we have the texture files, by Sculk Shriekers he 100% must be referring to the trap-like block. So in conclusion, what this means is that the trap-like block is an old prototype of Sculk Shriekers, changing over. That's why the outdated text file said that Sculk Shriekers replace Sculk, and why kingbdogz said that Sculk Shriekers no longer look like the block we saw at Minecraft LIVE 2020, which was what they used in the add-on. The way I present this right now might seem like a form of speculation, but it is directly supported by all the evidence; it just takes a bit of digging and data mining. You can always look through the evidence, just go to the older thread about the leaked name files then to the other newer links provided here. So in conclusion what I suggest doing is updating the texture of the Sculk Shrieker in the page, mentioning that a new texture for the Sculk Shrieker was found through leaked internal beta files and that it was shown at Minecraft LIVE with an old texture <insert-old-texture>. Also as a sidenote, the one who found them said the files were open and publicly accessible, so there wasn't too much digging behind it. Zegatrox (talk) 01:34, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

World blending - How can I prevent this?[]

Hi folks,

I'm currently playing Minecraft: Java Edition on my Mac. I converted the map from PE 1.19.0 to JE 1.19. But I thought, that Java Edition hasn't world blending because I created the map on my iPad and converted it. When I'm loading now the map in Java Edition 1.19, new chunks are generating at Y=-60 and the old chunks are still at Y=4 and this looks very bad. That's the reason why I don't want to have the world blending. Is there an option to prevent this for the reasons above?

Sincerely yours, Atten007😊 5.147.70.173 15:00, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
