Glowstone Dust can also be obtained by destroying dirt - I have obtained some by destroying dirt underwater with a shovel in a SMP server, check this information and maybe add it to the wiki?

(sorry for my informality, English is not my mother tongue)

That's a server mod. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 05:16, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Recipe has changed.[]

It requires nine of them to make a single block of the stuff now.–The preceding unsigned comment was added by Daimoth (Talk|Contribs) 13:01, 13 June 2011. Please sign your posts with ~~~~

No, this was the old recipe, the new one (since Bêta 1.6.6) needs only four. – Scaler (t) 11:12, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

Must have changed from 1.6.4 to 1.6.6 then, thanks. *seeks update* - Daimoth

So this is a one-way recipe then: you can't get 4 dust from 1 block??? IF so then is there a recipe for bulk storage of dust, like redstone???--Clonemonkey (talk) 08:23, 23 December 2019 (UTC)

Simply break the block to get 4 dust again, no reversal recipe exists. FVbico (talk) 08:36, 23 December 2019 (UTC)

Just one dust[]

When I put one glowstone dust to craftin my inventory I can take a whole stack of dirt. I placed this thing firstly on talk because it can be some mod (but as far as i know it is not) Wojowu 20:45, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Doesn't do anything for me. FatherToast 21:12, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

In Brewing[]

While adding Glowstone Dust does increase the potency of potions, doesn't it also reduce the duration of their effects? I'm not going to edit, because I'm not entirely certain. Hydraxan14 16:43, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

No, It just makes one of the base potions.166.127.1.225 17:49, 22 May 2012 (UTC)psycodragons
