I watch grimstone in game and there isn't that's form , only on left and right sides this has cube pixels, but not down. Deepslate spawn on level Y=17[]

I am in one world and noticed that when I hover over deepslate, it's on y=17. Version is 1.17.1, anyone can confirm? 76.64.118.130 23:58, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

Hovering over a block isn't the same as being on the same Y-level that the block is on. BDJP ^(t|c) 00:11, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

Why doesn't this mention the crafting recipe for polished deepslate?

Different appearances[]

I've noticed that deepslate looks different on the top and bottom faces, compared to the side faces. It can be frustrating when placing blocks, and they end up looking different. Can someone add details about this?

That's because the Polished Deepslate recipe uses Cobbled Deepslate, not regular. :)
