Global supply chain cyber-attacks are projected to surpass $80.6 billion by 2026. How can software companies help customers reduce these financial losses? Implement DevSecOps DevSecOps is a framework that integrates security throughout software development (SDLC), fostering collaboration between developers, security, and operations. It's a cultural shift making security a shared responsibility for building secure applications faster. 👇 3 Reasons Why DecSecOps is Essential for Secure Software Delivery 1 /// Customers Have Higher Expectations Security is no longer a checkbox to avoid trouble; it's a critical investment. Customers demand not just "secure-enough" products but the most secure options within their budget. 2 /// Shifting Security Left Secures Code Faster and Cheaper Security weaknesses are identified and addressed as code is written. This reduces lingering undetected vulnerabilities that become visible much later in development when they are more time-consuming and expensive to fix. 3 /// Breaking Down Silos Increases Developer Velocity Continuous collaboration between development, security, and operations teams seamlessly integrates security practices throughout the entire process. There's no longer the disruptive "security as an afterthought" problem often present in DevOps-only environments. According to a GitLab report, 58% of IT operations and security leaders said they have difficulty getting development to prioritize vulnerability remediation, underscoring the necessity of a DevSecOp approach. At EEP, we believe prioritizing security alongside development and operations is the way forward to deliver high-quality, secure applications that meet market demands. See below for a detailed breakdown of how the DevSecOp toolchain works 🛠️ Sources: Gartner, GitLab, and Juniper Research #cybersecurity #enterprise #saas #venturecapital #identity #privacy #data Want to stay on top of the latest trends in Cybersecurity? 🔔 Follow Evolution Equity Partners on LinkedIn. Cytactic, the platform pioneering cyber crisis readiness and management, announced today a $16 million seed funding round led by Evolution Equity Partners. We are thrilled to be partnering with Cytactic to address this important area in cybersecurity. Businesses are scrambling to fortify their defenses against cyber threats, recognizing the widespread impact and complexity of such crises. However, studies show that most companies are not resilient in case of a cyber crisis. A new approach is crucial—one that integrates cyber crisis preparation, response management, and recovery into a unified, user-friendly platform accessible to all relevant roles and market sectors. This is where Cytactic comes in. Congratulations Nimrod Kozlovski, Founder and CEO and the entire Cytactic team. #evolutionportfolio, #DefendandProtect, #cybersecurity, Yuval Ben-Itzhak https://lnkd.in/dx-XgFFF

51% of businesses bolster cybersecurity funding after a data breach. Without robust cybersecurity, companies face a triple threat: ⚠️ Customer Exodus A single data breach can lead to a 5% customer loss. ⚠️ Financial Hemorrahage Cyberattacks cause significant downtime, costing $450,000 per incident. ⚠️ Operational Paralysis The average downtime caused by an attack lasts at least three days. A constant barrage of phishing attempts (over 2,500 reported daily) exposes companies to potential data compromises and severe financial losses. For businesses and consumers, cybersecurity is a necessity, not a luxury. Sources: DataPatrol and Holborn Stay tuned for more insights from our Centers of Excellence content! 46% of cybersecurity leaders consider deepfakes a 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻, alongside phishing and malware development. Deepfakes have been around for a while, but they’re not just for pranks anymore. The scale of deepfake scams is difficult to estimate (for now) due to underreporting and misattribution, but the image below hints at its recent exponential growth. ✅ The good news: Deepfake detection solutions are quickly emerging as a response: - Google DeepMind’s SynthID - Intel Corporation’s FakeCatcher - Reality Defender - Sensity ❌ The bad news: Defenses against adversarial capabilities in enterprises may be cumbersome: - Insufficient employee awareness and training - Lack of suspicious request verification through multiple channels - Lack of next-generation multi-factor authentication - Lack of secure processes for sensitive operations like large money transfers. ✉️ Get in touch with us if you or someone you know are working on defending reality. #cybersecurity #saas #ai #deepfakes #defendandprotect Evolution Equity Partners - Multistage venture capital firm investing in market-leading cybersecurity companies.

Is There a New Standard for Public Cybersecurity Companies? Yes, the cybersecurity IPO landscape has undergone a dramatic shift. Today's market demands a different breed of company. We can't prioritize growth at all costs. Right now, investors want financially sound businesses with strong revenue growth, profitability, and appropriate cost management. A quick look at how standards have changed 👇 📈 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻/𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 (𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟮-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬) This era saw a surge of cybersecurity IPOs fueled by low interest rates and a growth-obsessed market. Many companies went public. 📈 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻/𝗦𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 (𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮) Suddenly, high-growth IPOs fizzled out. Companies like KnowBe4 and ForgeRock couldn't keep pace with the market's new demands and were either acquired or delisted. 📈 The Goldilocks Zone The focus is now on sustainable growth alongside responsible financial management. It's all about building companies that can not only scale but also thrive in the public market. Below, you can see how A-list companies are leading the way. Top performers like Palo Alto Networks and CrowdStrike demonstrate the winning formula: strong revenue growth, investor confidence, and a focus on high-growth markets. Is there a growing divide between the top companies and those struggling to break through? The future belongs to highly scalable, profitable, and resilient companies. These businesses will shape the next era of cybersecurity success. The key takeaway: The cybersecurity industry is maturing. It's no longer enough to be "bigger, faster, stronger." Now, you must be smarter, more efficient, and built to last. The Office of the National Cyber Director, The White House (ONCD) is taking action to address the most pressing cybersecurity issues affecting our nation today. Here are some important initiatives: 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆¹: ➡ The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will implement a cyber strategy for healthcare, raising baseline standards for hospitals and providing aid to smaller facilities. ➡ The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will provide more technical cybersecurity assistance for public water systems. ➡ The USDA will invest in a program to integrate cybersecurity for rural water utilities considered vulnerable. ➡ The U.S. Department of Justice plans to develop a program to deter juveniles from joining criminal hacker groups ➡ The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) are assessing the feasibility of a security risk assessment center for open source software. We foresee that The ONCD’s increased involvement will result in enhanced interoperability and collaboration between government agencies and key stakeholders through harmonized cybersecurity regulatory frameworks and aid programs. (Read our post on ONCD’s recent RFI: https://lnkd.in/egnW6PWX). We encourage all our portfolio companies and our broader network of cybersecurity professionals to stay up to date with the most recent developments. #cybersecurity #venturecapital #founders #investors #defendandprotect If you’re a cybersecurity founder, operator, or technologist, we encourage you to follow Evolution Equity Partners, the multistage venture capital firm investing in market-leading cybersecurity companies. ¹ Read more on the topic here: https://lnkd.in/e6irTkqh
The Office of the National Cyber Director, The White House (ONCD) released a summary of responses to a recent Request for Information (RFI) about the 𝗰𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲 in which partners in civil society, academia, and industry participated.¹ RFI highlights worth discussing: 💡 Respondents agree that the lack of harmonization and reciprocity in cybersecurity regulations poses challenges to cybersecurity outcomes and business competitiveness, regardless of sector or company size. 💡 Respondents are concerned about the lack of harmonization across federal agencies, state and federal regulators, and international borders. 💡 Respondents noted that complying with multiple regulatory regimes targeting the same risk reduces actual programmatic cybersecurity spending. The good news is that the ONCD is already working on a pilot reciprocity framework for a critical infrastructure subsector to gain insights into designing a harmonized cybersecurity regulatory approach. We’d like to echo the call for congressional support to bring together relevant agencies and develop a cross-sector framework for harmonizing and enabling reciprocity in baseline cybersecurity requirements. As a strategic investor in market-leading cybersecurity companies, our posture at Evolution Equity Partners is that while there might be some near-term adjustments, the long-term outlook for the sector is highly bullish. 📈 The ONCD's push for harmonization could be the tide that lifts all boats in cybersecurity by lifting heavy regulatory burdens and streamlining compliance across the board. However, we predict the winners will be those companies that are agile enough to adapt to new rules and offer solutions that improve cybersecurity while delivering tangible business value, not just ticking regulatory boxes. Can standardized regulations keep pace with the fast-evolving cybersecurity landscape? Answer via the poll below 👇 #cybersecurity #regulation #compliance #defendandprotect ¹ Read National Cyber Director Harry Coker, Jr.’s full blog post here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dTEdbAth
