The Tagalog translation project is a project with the goal of translating the FTB Wiki’s articles to the Tagalog/Filipino language.

Guide[]

In addition to the translation guide, there are some guidelines to follow:

  • To repeat: Proper names of mods, modpacks, and items should only be translated if there is an official Tagalog translation of it (which is to say almost none). Remember that vanilla items do have a Filipino translation (in Java Edition).
  • If there are no official translations, then use the actual Tagalog translation for it, with (Ingles: _) added as well. Try to contribute and submit these translations to the mod itself.
  • If there is no Tagalog equivalent, remain as-is.
  • The Tagalog of mod is still mod. Same for modpack, recipe, entity, addon, and mob.

Terms[]

Some terms need to align with the Tagalog Wikipedia and the official Vanilla Minecraft Filipino translation for consistency. Among them are:

Reference[]

The Maugnaying Talasalitaang Pang-Agham Ingles-Pilipino is an excellent resource for translating technical terms. You may get it here.

Orthography[]

If the transposing of non-Filipino words is needed in order to translate, please follow the orthography manual by the Commission on the Filipino Language here.

Baybayin project[]

If you see boxes or nothing at all instead of the Baybayin script, your device probably doesn't support it. For more information, see here.

Since Baybayin is a writing system used to write some Philippine languages, including Tagalog, the Baybayin translations of articles are just direct copies of the Tagalog translations but written in Baybayin. Since this is often inaccessible in the language bar (langbar), to access the Baybayin translation or to translate into Baybayin, open first the Tagalog translation and then change the language code displayed in the URL from tl to tl-b.
