The Vault-Tec Population Management System is a constructible settlement object added in the Fallout 4 add-on Vault-Tec Workshop.

Characteristics[]

Apart from having the normal features of a standard settlement terminal, such as managing settings for spotlights, machines and more, this terminal lets the Sole Survivor track companions as the quest Overseer's Most Wanted, with each companion appearing as a marker on the Pip-Boy map. It can also be used to manage what task each settler is assigned to at the settlement. Note that it cannot track Automatron companions with the exception of Ada.

Bugs[]

  • PCPC Sometimes, the numbers reported on the Vocational Overview screen are incorrect, listing less settlers than the actual numbers currently assigned to each "occupation." When this occurs, the Find jobs for the unemployed screen also does not report the correct numbers of unemployed settlers. Exiting the terminal and returning to it after a while may fix the problem. Leaving the settlement and returning to it can also sometimes fix the problem. This bug is more frequent on settlements where the build limits have been increased through exploits.[verification overdue]
  • PCPC The combination of unassigning a settler from a vocation then immediately reassigning them can cause that individual to disappear. However, the Vault-Tec Population Management System will still display them as an unassigned settler and they can be interacted with through it; they can be reassigned and will still be productive despite not being physically present.[verification overdue]
