F76 Naming Forum Vote[]
Greetings! In response to your mention of what Bethesda gives us, as well as canon, I would like to point out that the Resident is also just as much of a valid and canon title, not to mention that it's better due to how it differentiates the 76 protagonist from the Fallout 1 protagonist.
Although some would say the Vault Dweller is the more official or canon name, neither is really more canon than the other. For the supposed evidence of a Bethesda spokesman, community managers only have so much expertise on the lore and other matters at hand, where we have had no actual full developer conversation or confirmation. The Resident is just as official, verified, and lore-proven name, with the only difference being - it's much less confusing. As such, I would say it to be best if Resident was chosen over Vault Dweller.

For "me", the answer from the Bethesda rep, if it is true, is probably enough. Of course, I understand that canon is a gradient - rather then a world of black and whites. Avellone infamously disagreed on what was and wasn't canon with other developers, after all. For Wiki organization purposes the Resident name is better, but its important that the wiki doesn't contribute to poor "Lore Literacy". ( Essentially: when a larger Fanbase gets the wrong impression of a particular detail of a setting, gradually that wrong assumption being seen as true.
The largest example of this the idea that "Fallout Tactics 2 would have been set in Florida", which isn't actually from a statement of fact and is just conjecture from the mutant crocodile concept art that Tariq did under Micro Forte. )

The page was a mess. It did not read well, you created a template in it for no reason, your sections were all jumbled together, and you provided a picture which was not appropriate. Which image was the one that was inappropriate? The one from the talk or the Robo-brain? The Robobrain image I was just basing it off of Quarantine the Glow Bugs's formatting with its image, I figured the image from the talk was warranted since it is the primary source that the article relies on.
