Hi there![]

FO1 intro Vault Boy

Welcome to the Vault!

Welcome to our Fallout wiki, and thank you for your contributions! There's a lot to do around here, so I hope you'll stay with us and make many more improvements.

Recent changes is a great first stop, because you can see what other people are editing right this minute, and where you can help.
If you haven't already, create a user page about yourself! If you do, we'll be able to know you better as a member of our community.
Questions? You can ask in the Forum or on the "discussion" page associated with each article, or post a message on my talk page!
Need help? The Help page has an outline of the site, and pages to help you learn how to edit.

I'm really happy to have you here, and look forward to working with you!

Data[]

Saw your edits to the Fallout 3 weapons page, I'm not saying it's wrong or anything, I just wanted to know where you pulled the scoped .44 and minigun info. Ash Nuke AshRandom (Talk) 02:30, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Okay, just checking ;) Please make sure to change the template data on the corresponding weapon pages. And the reply can be on either page, however responding directly to the other's page is the only way to force the "new changes on your talk page" script to pop-up. Cheers ;) Ash Nuke AshRandom (Talk) 03:39, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Also, thank you for double-checking our chart. Feel free to continue, we only have one user's info on it, so I'm sure there could be other typos. FYI we know GECK calculated DPS data is corrupted. Still working on hand calculating new data to replace it, expect to see that within the next week or so. Ash Nuke AshRandom (Talk) 03:50, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm not sure what you mean by "change the template data on the corresponding weapon pages". I know what a template is, but I don't know how to change it or modify it on wikia (I'm new to this stuff :)) ). I resume myself to change only what I know to modify... oh... and this is my first run through the game. Good thing to know that DPS is not 100% accurate Cheers :) GobTheGoul 03:58, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
As you did on Wanda. The template area is everything inside of the double brackets (in the chart at the top of the page when you click edit). Ash Nuke AshRandom (Talk) 04:04, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Dry Sewers[]

Only Template:FO3 metro supports the cw exit field, the FO3 location template doesn't :-) // Porter21 U | T 20:05, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

OK... thanks for the quick reply and fix. ;) GobTheGoul 20:09, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Tinted Eyewear[]

Feel free to remove them from the table and Template:Navbox armors FO3. I'll make the article redirect to Tinted Reading Glasses.

If it doesn't exist, it shouldn't be here :-) // Porter21 U | T 18:00, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

OK. I will... thanks ;) GobTheGoul 18:04, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, looks OK. Ausir 12:50, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Rose's Wasteland Omelet[]

Sorted. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 21:25, March 10, 2011 (UTC)

Excellent! GobTheGoul 21:39, March 10, 2011 (UTC)

G.E.C.K.[]

Is there any way for console players using a PS3 or XBOX360 version of the game to check the readouts from the G.E.C.K. download? Great Mara 11:31, March 11, 2011 (UTC)

I'm not aware of anything like that and I doubt it can be done. You can read here a little bit. GobTheGoul 12:01, March 11, 2011 (UTC)

Cass's moonshine[]

Sorted, actually forgot all about this and then just randomly remembered now lolz. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 15:03, April 5, 2011 (UTC)

Identical images[]

Heh, the only duplicate image I am aware of is the baseball caps, that is something I need to sort out as both these items use the same model. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 03:41, April 6, 2011 (UTC)

Naaa, that's down to me. Sometimes uploading a new version of a picture doesn't update the image, it changes the dimensions of the image to the new file size, but displays the old image. Uploading a second time tends to sort it out forcing the server to react and actually replace the image correctly, strange thing is, doing this also sorts out the previous upload as well. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 04:59, April 6, 2011 (UTC)
They can be with admin privileges, but I don't know what purpose that would serve. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 19:19, April 6, 2011 (UTC)

Decimals again[]

Grrrrrr, it is annoying as hell. I too very rarely get a answer, the only way forward is to bring up to a Bureaucrat or to gain community consensus in the forums.

As for the project, yeah that is fine. Anyone can add a name to a project if they wish to help within that project, adding your name does not mean that you have contributed, but that you wish to contribute to the project. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 23:33, April 15, 2011 (UTC)

Grrrr, I am leaving them a message again and see if I get any response. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 19:48, April 16, 2011 (UTC)

Last message...[]

All right. I'll try my best to resist myself from adding pointless edits. You know who you're talking to... April 22, 2011 15:21 (3:21 pm) (UTC)

Weapons[]

It is only locked to anon edits, it will still warn you as a user but allow you to submit a edit.

Dont worry, many people make that mistake. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 21:30, April 26, 2011 (UTC)
You are not the only one missing something, I have been wondering about that for a while now but never got around to verifying it. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 22:55, April 26, 2011 (UTC)
I wouldn't be so sure about that =P but yeah, go with that until someone corrects it with in-game testing. Having a slightly off figure is better than either no figure or a figure that is off by a massive amount. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 23:12, April 26, 2011 (UTC)

Gobi listing on patch page[]

So should I change that on the page for the patch, because I noticed it was listed as a flat 0 on there. Great Mara 05:40, April 27, 2011 (UTC)

Maybe a bit late, but a bit of info for you here on the subject. Something for future reference. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 22:09, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

Experience points on creature pages[]

The XP auto calculates at 10x the level, the thing with the Cazadors is someone hasn't put in the lvl 5 variants in the boxes. As for your 55xp, do you have Swift Learner (+10% xp) by any chance. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 00:44, April 28, 2011 (UTC)

Well rested, thats also 10% xp boost as well. And now looking into the base XP for them. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 01:14, April 28, 2011 (UTC)
The little buggers, I have figured it out I think. XP is capped if your level is higher than there level. Needs some more testing to be sure that is how it works, but a kill by a lvl 1 character got me 130xp on the same young Cazador, (10x lvl 12 = 120xp, dont know where the other 10xp came from, but I cant remember what perks I put on my debug character). Undoing multiple revisions[]

A little tip for you, this is the easiest way (even for a admin in most cases) to undo multiple revisions and is open to everyone to do. In the history find the last good revision you wish to revert back to by clicking click its date, then simply click edit and then save, this will revert the whole page to that version and loses any edits after it. This is especially useful when you have someone mess up a page and then when someone else has tried to fix it but either misses bits or only makes it worse. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 16:54, May 1, 2011 (UTC)

P.S. I have left it for you to do and try it out for yourself, if it goes badly let me know and I can sort it out. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 16:56, May 1, 2011 (UTC)
Nope, nothing extra in these cases except for rollback rights. And rollback rights are highly over rated as they can only be used against the last person who edited (meaning it wont be the best solution is all cases) and only saves you one extra click. Where as what I have told you is a lot more adaptive especially if several people have edited the page, take only one extra click and is open to everyone to use, so I prefer to teach people this as it allows contributors to be able to do what is needed, instead of waiting on a admin. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 17:12, May 1, 2011 (UTC)

Radscorpion stats[]

Are you sure about the radscorpion stats? They look quite different from the ones previously entered. Ausir(talk) 16:04, May 3, 2011 (UTC)

Removing the divider...[]

Knew about it before it was put in place, they announced it on our forums here. But I added my view there as well. Just so you know there is some more changes coming soon Forum:New Sidebar Element Being Tested. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 22:04, May 5, 2011 (UTC)

Community central[]

I can see your point, just thought I'd say. I'm becoming increasingly annoyed about this attitude of "more edits = good", we saw the same thing as reasoning behind achievements. Most of these edits have more potential to be pointless, and if someone doesn't want to contribute to a page because of a grey line I'm unsure as to whether their contributions would actually amount to much. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 22:04, May 5, 2011 (UTC)

I can see them ignoring us though. Oh well, might aswell go down with a fight. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 22:39, May 5, 2011 (UTC)

Your last comment made me laugh, I'm sure you might be able to appreciate my latest one. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 22:58, May 5, 2011 (UTC)

I know right, typical. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 23:12, May 5, 2011 (UTC)

Vault 13[]

The info is valid, but not really as part of the main background section. It was only an easter egg, so it should be under "notes" or something. Ausir(talk) 13:58, May 8, 2011 (UTC)

Bobby[]

Alright I'll take a look. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 17:34, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

Hm, it is a little strange how his sole contribution is to vote for Bobby as an admin. I checked his page but it doesn't say when he joined, otherwise we could assess how much he would realistically know about his contributions. I'm not sure what can be done about this really as this sounds like more of a conspiracy type thing :P --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 21:51, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

Woah, that's not good. Do you suppose someone should be informed? I don't know if admins will see this as any more than a tenuous link. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 22:05, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

Alright, although I'm not sure what can come of this and what he'll make of it. If it is true and someone who wants to be an admin is employing nefarious methods to ensure his victory I feel action should probably be taken.
Then again, there is the possibility this is all just a coincidence and we're getting worried about nothing. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 22:15, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

Well I don't want to sound unfair, but I do think its more than likely this is exactly how it seems. And I looked at the message you sent Jspoel, perhaps a more explanatory message should be sent out? You have probably seen the comments about Ausir's IP check. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 22:23, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

True, but I see it as somewhat far-fetched to think he'd go to such measures. Maybe he just assumed nobody would realise? And besides if the IPs were compared it would just serve as another test, it doesn't change the suspiciousness of the situation. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 22:33, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
  • I have read your message and correspondence with Cartman about Bobby's adminship request, Gob (also that sole edit of the Lonesome Drifter), and right now I'm thinking what course of action is appropriate. Your comment is already on his request, that's already damaging I think. JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 22:34, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, but this has to stop here. It is one thing to raise a concern, but this is quickly turning into a witch hunt. As for CheckUser for the new account, that is unlikely to happen due to privacy issues. If you have a concern/doubt that you think is of importance, it is best to raise it as a concern/doubt when casting your vote and leave it at that. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 22:52, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
Ultimately, "The final decision will be up to the bureaucrat(s) after the community has had its say." This is regardless of the votes, they only exists to give an idea of the community consensus in the decision process for the bureaucrats. So it is best to raise your concern (and not the conclusion) there so it can be taken into account if needed during the process. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 23:11, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

Thank you Avatar, this is ridiculous, who would be as petty as to create a profile to vote for them? Please, you insult my intelligence. Bobbyb373 08:02, May 10, 2011 (UTC)

Oh, sorry if you feel that I have offended your intelligence, but you just did the same thing with the rest of us by trying to hide the unfavorable messages. As a note, I think it would have been a nice gesture of you to restore those messages. And now, let's finish all this, it will be best for everybody.
PS: I replied on my own page because I don't want to be accused of restarting the "malicious and untruthful witch hunt". GobTheGoul 19:29, May 10, 2011 (UTC)

Damage per AP[]

As far as I am aware, that is correct. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 19:17, May 11, 2011 (UTC)

Talkpage deletion[]

There are no rules against it per se and I think users can delete their own talkpages as far as I know, it's just unsuitable in certain scenarios e.g. those applying for adminship and it is of course slightly slippery. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 20:24, May 12, 2011 (UTC)

  • I think I recall an admin stating it isn't against the rules, but don't quote me I'm not sure if I'm correct at all. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 20:26, May 12, 2011 (UTC)

Just going by what I've heard :P I'm not sure how I feel on the subject, I mean yes it's a bit suspicious at times but you can also say they have a right as it is their talk page. Personally, I just like to justify anything that sounds out of place rather than delete it. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 20:35, May 12, 2011 (UTC)

The Vault:User conduct guideline#User pages User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 20:44, May 12, 2011 (UTC)

Thought as much. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 20:48, May 12, 2011 (UTC)

As for the morality side, that is exactly why I wouldn't do it. I know I haven't done anything wrong, so I believe it's better to convince others towards my perspective rather than making myself seem somewhat suspicious. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 20:54, May 12, 2011 (UTC)
  • Matthias gave me a valid source for his edit on the Dog (Fallout: New Vegas) page. It needs to be reworded a bit but in my opinion can be added. And I see Avatar also joined us. Maybe we need to change some talkpage rules in the policy... JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 21:07, May 12, 2011 (UTC) (same post sent to Cartman)

Exactly, it's always there anyway so what's the point in trying to hide it. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 21:19, May 12, 2011 (UTC)

Blood pack[]

You can remove it from the chems table. When you look on the Chems page, you'll see that the blood pack isn't listed, so it's not a chem (the picture still has the blood pack on it, but needs to be replaced with a new one.) JspoelJspoel Vault Boy 16:57, May 13, 2011 (UTC)

Sig[]

Ahhh, in that case it is down to many factors that all relate to the browser or PC you are running on and not the download speed. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 23:28, May 14, 2011 (UTC)

Resizing[]

You're not the only one that fails to see any purpose in reducing the image size. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 21:13, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

I would go with a crop, but maintain the size minus the cropped area. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 21:21, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

Ghost of She's paw[]

Sorted. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 17:28, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

I never removed anything. Trolly Polly Olly 21:59, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

No, the warning never showed. Trolly Polly Olly 22:13, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

I think that's probably what happened though. Trolly Polly Olly 22:14, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

Ho dangit![]

Thanks pal! Idk if it'll work on Windows 7, but w/e I'll try. --Valoopy sig Valoopy 19:21, May 27, 2011 (UTC)

Oh and I assume it's download, extract, play?

Disregard the last comment, got it working. Thanks a bunch! You outta post that on the Van Buren tech demo page. Anyway, thanks! I'm over-enjoying it extremely, and I think I got all the items. Does it always freeze after you fix the vault? --Valoopy sig Valoopy 22:02, May 27, 2011 (UTC)

I found out that a LOT of things cause freezing. I've got a blog going on my page of things I've tested; GhostAvatar was kind enough to add EVERY map and entity he could find to the Van Buren console codes page. --Valoopy sig Valoopy 15:32, May 29, 2011 (UTC)

Redirect help[]

Sorted, I don't know how you did it, but somehow the history didnt move over as well. So I redid it to correct the history. And Sugar Bombs by the looks of it is a proper noun. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 18:57, May 30, 2011 (UTC)

How exactly did you do the redirect anyway? User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 19:04, May 30, 2011 (UTC)
That explains it, you did it manually. What you need to do in future is click on the arrow next to the edit button and select rename to move the history as well. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 11:41, May 31, 2011 (UTC)

FYI[]

Hmm, I see. You have a great night too. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 22:39, June 5, 2011 (UTC)

Wasteland Map[]

Hey Gob', I noticed the Enclave Location Map you made. I also noticed the quality, high contrast, and the size(at 1636x1636 it's largest topographical capitol wasteland map I've seen). You wouldn't happen to have a clean copy of it without any markings? If so, is there any chance you could upload it? --Xclockwatcher 04:18, December 2, 2011 (UTC)

Would if could. I don't have the PC version. So I'm limited as to how much I can get under the hood. --Xclockwatcher 19:49, December 5, 2011 (UTC)
