The first series of notices are intended for major issues, often ones where a ban is just as likely to be handed out as a warning. Many of these are behavioral issues where the recipient would have actively gone out of their way to cause a problem (vandals, rude comments, spam, etc.) Very little was done to these notices, save for the addition of much more specific links being added so that the recipient could more easily be directed to the rule violated. Edit warring was slightly altered here to reflect the issue being continuous rather than a single instance.
The second series are minor issues which are likely the result of inexperience not ill will, and do not need a scolding so much as a helping hand. The existing language here was already a little softer, but it was sanded down a little more, and links to specific pages were added where necessary. Rather than the old icon, a blue exclamation point, a little extra personality was added via the Vault Boy icon.
Previously there had been an orange series of warnings, but they were somewhat inconsistently bouncing between the two extremes rather than feeling like a middle ground. To simplify things, these notices were either made into red notices or minor notices.
