Just found out you can get into this suit without blowing up megaton, simply go to tenpenny's balcony and walk around to the left, there will be a door that dose not require a key. Both the robot and bobble head stand will be there, hover I do not know if the additional furniture will be available.

On the 360 version that door still requires a key.
Nor does this work on the patched PC version. --DarkJeff 17:57, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
Works for me (patched PC version). --Porter21 18:18, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
Also works for me, patched 360 version. --Burneddi 18:07, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
Did anyone find out whether this works or not on the patched version? DOesnt work for me.. (patched)
I may be wrong, but I think trying the front door first locks the back door. In my first play through I could walk around back no problem (on the 360). In my second play through, before the patch was released I was locked out, and I know I tried the front door first. --DoubleGrande 14:13, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
Actually, still post-patch, I stole the key off the pedestal near the elevator, and now can get in the back door, but not the front.--DoubleGrande 03:31, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Vault theme[]

I just want to know if you can buy the suite i really want my good character to have a vault 101 themed house and you can't get that theme for the Megaton house (note: i'mon PS3 version) Onikage01 11:32, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

As far as I know the only way to do it is by blowing up Megaton, but what I did is that I waited till I had very good karma. Then I blew it up and had neutral karma then I just kept doing good things and now I'm back to being very good. --Kr3wlife 23:54, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
There are plenty of ways to manipulate your karma level. The most effective way to raise it is to donate purified water to the beggars outside Megaton, Rivet City or Tenpenny Tower. Just stealing random junk from vendors will lower it quickly, if you would rather not be killing off characters and making enemies anyhow.
Actually, killing an innocent person and then donating 2 water bottles to a beggar nets one +15 'points' of karma. Am I the only one who finds this strange? 68.192.9.90 21:20, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

player.coc[]

You can use the above code, with a ref number, to teleport to the suite. Can someone add in that number?

Locker Bugs[]

The Tower Suit has the same bugs concerning the safe and desk (where it just "deletes" items you store in it after some time) as the Megaton House. Maybe that should be in the article

thats never happend to me are you sure you didnt remove them yourselfLuciusZelgius 07:52, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

I also experienced this bug, same thing, placing items in the safe under the desk, i had a lot of items in here (random junk, i robbed the store downstairs blind at night) totalling maybe 300 caps of value, when i came the next realtime day to sell them, they were gone... Obtain suite from Roy Phillips[]

There is a brief mention on this page that if you leave after killing the residents with the ghouls before talking to Roy, "the dialog option to obtain a suite in the tower is missing." Does this mean you can also get the tower suite from Roy, rather than nuking Megaton?--144.89.13.203 14:54, 27 May 2009 (UTC)Class_Act

Maybee there is a way, but i tryed it, and i cant talk to roy after sweeping the 3 floors, there's no dialog box coming up. --95.88.230.190 18:18, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Glitch Log?[]

I blew up Megaton. 10penny is my home. This talk topic gets way less action than the Megaton house apparently. Why doesn't this one have a "glitch log" like My Megaton house?

My main curiosity is if the multi-items like Nuka-Cola (17) for example revert to singles after a while?

V.A.T.S. addict 03:18, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

People tend to not blow up Megaton because it's generally a very foolish move. I wish I had known that before I did it. :P - 65.4.224.245 03:22, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

How so? Once everything is done in Megaton it becomes pretty pointless. May as well nuke it.--86.149.230.135 00:19, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

plus megaton only has 4 vendors, none have a good selection of weapons, and once you get the schemats, moira is useless, tennpenny has 6, 4 if you let the ghouls in and shakes survives, and one has a good supply of weapons and ammo (i'm counting that masters takes over gustavo's and whatser-face's) plus, free is less than 1000 caps,100 caps is less than 1000 caps, and 500 caps,is less than 5000 caps--JoeHanSon 04:34, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

I have two games with the tennpenny and megaton house

the megaton pluses are 1.better location 2.caravan vendors come here 3. more space 4.no major karma loss (after completing the power of the atom) 5.can be obtained very early in the game without missing quests/items 6. quick acsess - fast travel than just go through the door.

The tenpenny pluses are 1. better quality place 2.more vendors (not if your counting caravan though) 3. More decorations when purcasing a theme. 4. nice balcony with view. 5.more caps (after completing the power of the atom) 6. Security gaurds (they dont really do anything but they are cool to have) 7. additional space if you kill tenpenny,Chengs and burke and use their suites too.

Decorations[]

has anyone realy decorated their tennpenny suite? i've only been able to decorate once(loss of ideas on previos profiles) i got the pre-war theme, the Lincoln artifacts scattered around, aside from the repeater and diary, then i have a chinese jumpsuit, hat, rifle and pistol proped up on a nuka cola truck, then theres action aberaham, standing over some knocked over damaged garden gnomes with mutalated body parts from gore bags scattered around him, looking at an intact gnome trying to hide in the corner, and i'm slowly filling up the bathtub of the theme with pool balls, someone tell me what you did--JoeHanSon 03:45, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

I laid Nuka-Cola Quantum bottles on the shelf in my suite, I filled up half of the shelf, looks pretty neat. I put weapons all over, and the lincoln stuff all over too. Delacy Jones Sept.13.2011

I have a corner (next to the desk) just trashed with xX Missle Launchers, FatMen, Heavy Incinerators, Flamers, Tesla Armor, Power Armor, Helmets etc. I have a bunch of Nuka Cola Quantum on my bedside table, a Deathclaw Hand on my bed, and a number of items like Eulogy's Hat and the Vault 77 Jumpsuit in on the shelves. Plus the Lincoln figure and 11 Bobblehads. Too bad I laid waste to Tenpenny before I bought upgrades. Oh well. V.A.T.S. addict 05:02, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

What i did mainly was make the desk look like a proper desk with tickets and holot apes about it and a couple pencils with a music sheetbook so it looks like i wrote it, and the two lincoln related pictures propped up at the back. i also kept all the (chunkier) books like "Tales of a junktown jerky vendor" and "lying congresionla style" as well as all the pre-war books (money is easy to get anyway) and put them all up on the bookshelf, it's really looking very immpressive right now. I also put the "krivbeknih" up on the pedastal by the chair for omniousness. That my apartment...Bio Enhancment 411 16:59, November 2, 2009 (UTC)

Two themes at once?[]

I heard somewhere that you could some glitch the game so you could get two themes at once. Is this possible on the 360 without mods? --Zyan71.196.144.139 19:25, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Cant Retrieve BobbleHeads 360?[]

I placed the bobbleheads on the Bobblehead Collectors shelf and tried to pick them up. A dialog box comes up with the bobblehead quote! Am i crazy or are my precious bobbleheads collecting dust till i get the ones that i missed? forever?

you cant pick them up without mods i think check with a pc player im on 360.

I am on 360 too buddy... So they are gone!?

You still get the benifits but they are stuck lon the stand
The stand is designed to hold the bobbleheads in a nice organized fashion. It's pointless carrying a Bobblehead around after you pick it up as the benefits are immediate.--KnightNapier 23:39, December 30, 2009 (UTC)

Japanese version[]

just curious, but if in the Japanese edition of the game there is no option to blow up megaton, is there any way for players (evil or otherwise) to get this house? --216.220.115.175 22:44, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

Doesn't seem like it. PC players can download some mods for that, but not the 360 or PS3 players. Nitty 22:48, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

Getting in without destroying megaton[]

Ive gotten in from the balcony on 3 different occasions without even starting power of the atom and the roy phillips mission. This is also with all the patches on 360. The only things Ive noticed that Ive done in all 3 aside from not starting the quests and not entering moriaritys is to ignore roy when hes at the intercom and I usually wait til roys back in the subway before trying to get into the tower. All the info i see talks about completing the quests or having it unpatched and ive done this numerous times. Contrary to the ways your supposed to get in. Its either completly random because its not a sure bet the balcony doors open,by what i normally do. Going into megaton dosent seem to matter as ive done both and had success, Ive just never started power of the atom.

I've gotten in on PS3 with the latest patches and this was a long time after completing Power of Atom. I don't know what it is that causes the door to unlock but I'm not complaining. If I ever need space I'll go there.--KnightNapier 21:03, December 23, 2009 (UTC)
A. Getting Tenpenny Penthouse Suite and the Megaton house on the PC.
Killing Roy Phillips and friends will not get your the suite or allow you to furnish it from Ms. Montenegro.
1. The easiest way to get both. Also, killing Roy with assoicates will still get you bad press, but won't
effect your Karma. Supposed you can avoid both by using the Mister Sandman perk.
a. Go to Megaton and complete the Disarming Atom Bomb quest by speaking to the Sherriff Simms.
b. Once you get into Tenpenny tower, take the elevator to the penthouse suites. The empty suite
will be the first door on your right. To get the suite key enter the following console command:
(1). Hit the tilde key
(2). Type the text between the quotes, "player.additem 0001522E 1".
(3). Hit the enter key, this gives you the key to the suite.
(4). hit the tilde key again to get back into regular game play.
(5). Use the key to get into the suite and talk to the robot butler and ask, "Where can I go to
get more stuff for the place?"
(6). Go back to the lobby and find the "Boutique Le Chic". Before talking to Lydia Montenegro, enter the
following console command:
(7). Hit the tilde key
(8). Type the text between the quotes, "SetStage 0007B234,0".
(9). Hit the enter key, this starts the dialogue quest about furnishing the suite.
(10). Hit the tilde key again to get back into regular game play.
(11). Now talk to Lydia Montenegro and she will talk to you about the suite.
2. The hard way, but you get to kill Mister Burke.
a. Go to Megaton and start the Disarming Atom Bomb quest by speaking to the Sherriff Simms.
(1). Go to Moriaty's Saloon and Mr. Burke will be sitting at table and wave you over.
(2). Accept his job for blowing up the atom bomb.
(3). Go to Sherriff and tell him what Mister Burke has in mind.
(4). The Sherriff will beat you to the saloon, go in and stand with a clear shot of Mr. Burke.
(5). Save the game.
(6). Listen to the dialogue between them and when Mister Burke gets up, kill him.
(7). The Sherriff will probably be outside by now, he will thank you for saving his life, but no reward.
b. Complete A,1,B once you get to Tenpenny Tower.
3. To get back to your Tenpenny Tower Suite from any location, enter the following as a console command,
"COC Tenpenny03player".
•The problem with doing this is it breaks things like the bobble-head stand. The bobble-heads can only be on one stand or the other. And the decorations are also glitchy too as both Godfrey and Wadsworth will talk about the workbench, Nuka-cola machine, etc., but they will only be in the location you bought them in.

Redecorating...[]

I really want to try a new theme on my suite but I am concerned as to what will become of the contents of my safe. If I redecorate, will my safe be reset?

None of the containers are touched by any of the themes, except for the locker that comes with the Vault theme. Nitty Tok. 13:50, October 10, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks man, I was just a bit hesitant.

Getting both houses[]

I didn't blow up megaton, and also didn't start the roy phillip quest, and I got myself the key to the tenpenny suite and also the property deed for it via console. Both of these items for megaton house were given to me in megaton when I defused the bomb. But it seems that this is the farest I can go, I can enter the room, I can talk to the robot, and I can ask him where to upgrade my suite, I can use the conainers, but Montenegro doesn't have option to sell stuff for the house. So is there a way to upgrade both houses? by the way, one of the reason could be that even I have the property deed, the door still shows "empty suite" instead "my suite" like in megaton, seems the property deed is not enough

Access without completing Power of the Atom[]

The Tenpenny Suite can be accessed via the balcony without ever completing The power of the Atom quest at all(current patch). Earlier in the game it was inaccessible, but later it was. I'm looking to establish the specific criteria that flags the balcony door to the suite as accessible. There are several factors that I believe may come into play.

1. Karma. I changed my karma drastically several times, when the door was finally accessible I was back to good karma. I had not been evil when I first tried and found it inaccessible.
2. Money. I was poor and broke when I first tried the balcony door, then dripping with caps when I tried again and got in.
3. Level. I made a bee line to the tower fresh from vault 101, and could not enter the suite. Tried again several levels later and got in. ~I don't put much stock in level being the deciding factor though.
4. Elapsed game time. ~Not likely, unless it's cyclical.
5. Faction Reputation. I know it's not an implemented stat like in New Vegas, but(for example) committing crimes against a faction(even some instances of indirect killings) are still recognized and visibly seen in such things as flavor dialogue and radio events. ~The likelihood of some sort of unseen flag is almost a certainty, even if it's not related to any factions.
6. Number of quests completed. ~Doubtful, as I had not completed any side quests or 'Following in His Footsteps', but had started several.
7. Stats. My Speech and Luck were better when I got in. ~Possibly luck, but my charisma was below average and my speech was middling.

The only character specifically related to the quest that was spoken to was Lucas Simms. I did kill off all the un-named Megaton residents, and had spoken to most of the named Tenpenny NPCs that had useful non-quest related interactions. I had made no inquiries into the ghoul quest either. If anyone has narrowed the variables, please state how. --Xclockwatcher 05:24, March 30, 2012 (UTC)

Access via the rear balcony should not happen[]

xbox 360 GOTY version.

  • (Copy) 02.12.78 @ 7.57pm Lvl.12 Entry happened even if the player has completed The Power of the Atom by disarming the bomb, even though the player has not been officially rewarded the suite. While the front door will be locked, the back door leading out to the balcony at the top will be unlocked, and the apartment functions as if the player has unlocked it; Godfrey will even greet the player like normal. The only way in and out of the suite is through the back door leading out to the balcony.Confirmed .Godfrey is fully functional. Able to load Bobble heads onto two stands --1000HrsFallout3 (talk) 18:36, July 30, 2013 (UTC)
  • Reload back to 02.12.78 @ 5.15 pm in Megaton and the repeat would not allow entry into the suite. Trigger for the entry unknown.
