Repeatable[]
This quest is repeatable and preston garvey picks random locaitons to assign you to take point on. I rewrote the page as best I could to take this into account. It's the same procedure each time. Do these quests happen even if the player clears and sets up a beacon in one or more of the areas before Preston Garvey assigns them? I have cleared two of them but am reluctant to set up a beacon if it is going to break the quest. GordonDogKing Dec 2, 2015
No, if you claim the settlement beforehand than you won't get the quest from Preston. The quest only targets still unclaimed settlements from the list. Personally, I don't see a reason why not to set the beacon: it is not like you gain anything special from doing it on Preston's order. --Nayrael (talk) 01:04, December 3, 2015 (UTC)
I just got a quest for Taking Point: Croup Manor despite having cleared the manor once just because I ran across it and once as a radiant quest from a settler from Nordhagen Beach. Taking Point seems to be incompleteable despite traveling to Croup Manor and poking my head around. Of note, I have several mods, including one that allows building in the Croup Manor basement, and I ran Disable and MarkForDelete on all the ghouls the first time, so it might be user error more than glitch. SetStage MinRecruit06 400 fixed the problem so I could get another random quest.--162.252.201.32 08:56, April 8, 2016 (UTC)
