Hot-diggity[]

In order to complete the quest, you require 100 Blue Star Bottlecaps. The reward is the start of a new, smaller quest, and the origin story of Sunset Sarsparilla itself, Yee-haw! The game also says that you need to kill boone in the missionto complete it

The secondary quest will lead you to a room containing multiple hundreds of Sunset Sarsparilla Deputy badges, along with the corpse of Alen Marks, one holotape, a leather armor, and...

13 Sunset Sarsparilla crates, each containing between 110 and 170 caps each, as well as a 1500 XP reward for finishing the quest.

Personally I'm never good at properly editing a wiki page for it to make sense, so if someone could put this all on the page in a way that makes sense that would be great.

The table Jiggles made is great, but only half of it is showing up. Does anyone know ho to fix this? Jiggles?

I dunno much more than you, I just copied the table template from another spot on here and hoped it would work, took me 3 hours to get all of that together. If anyone does know how to fix it, please do, it would be greatly appreciated. JigglesTheFett 18:14, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

>>>>>>>>> Dang, I was seriously hoping for a few dozen bottles of Sunset Sarsparilla. They heal well... but I keep running out. I raided the factory just to get more bottles. I found about 90 bottles, but I was hoping for more... they won't last me the rest of the game. TheTrueBlue 02:32, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

Bug?[]

I had collected about 25 of them. I looked into my inventory to find them, but could not find them. They had disappeared. I think the bug has to do with the Sunset Sarsaparilla deputy badge, but I can't verify that, for sure.

RE: all caps over that threshhold of 51 are simply converted into normal caps and given back to you. Eydryan 08:55, October 24, 2010 (UTC)

It says after comleting the quest any new star bottle caps are added to your regular bottle cap count, but on my game it is still putting them in misc. as a quest item. Is this possibly a bug? BigBoss 10/14/11

Trivia Removed?[]

I saw a revision to undo someone's added trivia. Was just curious as to why it was removed if the user that reverted cares to share. --ParallaxFallout 11:04, October 24, 2010 (UTC)

There's no reason to connect these bottle caps with tootsie roll wrappers in particular. There are a million collectable and redeemable things out there. In addition, we don't have a "Trivia" section. We do have a "Behind the scenes" section, and it's got some standards.--Gothemasticator 03:44, October 25, 2010 (UTC)

You wern't the person that reverted it, but still, I like the standards bit. Haha. It is true. Like I said, was mostly curious as to what's up.--ParallaxFallout 08:30, October 25, 2010 (UTC)

I think the tootsie roll pop reference was pretty relevant. I recommend adding it back to the article. Here http://www.snopes.com/business/redeem/tootsie.asp is a page which outlines the Indian chief wrapper urban myth, including a link to to the letter sent out in response to to such wrappers being mailed in with requests for their prize. The letter is entitled "Ledgend of the Indian Wrapper". After reading it there should be little doubt as to the specific connection to this urban myth. Both involve false rumors of a reward for collecting star themed product packaging. Both had a story added as a reward after the fact. 67.149.196.9 15:00, October 29, 2010 (UTC)

Well, I'll be. Looks pretty legit with those links. If someone wants to write it up and provide the links, that would be great.--Gothemasticator 17:17, October 29, 2010 (UTC)

Table Formating?[]

Seems the formatting quit about the 40th cap or so on the table. I can't seem to figure out what the issue is for the rest. There are over 50 listings on there that don't show up after the last one in the table. Anyone know what the deal is?--Jimimorrison 02:29, October 25, 2010 (UTC)

No idea what the deal is. Nitty Tok. 02:46, October 25, 2010 (UTC)
I broke the table into two at the point where it quit displaying.--Gothemasticator 03:40, October 25, 2010 (UTC)
The first table was displaying incorrectly, I pulled out the "|link" tag from the top of it, showing up fine now. -- Ductyl 74.93.110.210
The row IDs were doubled up. The first half were IDed 1-49 and the last half were IDed 2 and up. This caused any of the first half with shared numbers to not show up. I edited the numbers on the last half to continue from 50 and now all rows show up.

Tomas and Jacklyn[]

Removed that bit about the roles of attacker and attacked between Tomas and Jacklyn changing depending on the PC's own sex, as the strategy guide and my own experience beg to differ. --Twentyfists 01:04, November 8, 2010 (UTC)

Jacklyn[]

I didn't confront Jacklyn about the caps, then when I finished the conversation she said "sucker" and turned hostile.

Talking to Festus after Quest[]

I can still talk to Festus and play 'Lucky' Blackjack after finishing the quest. Yet the page says you can't. Anyone else able to do this?

Yeah. The page seemed to be wrong. Good call. Minor Edits 08:52, January 12, 2011 (UTC)

Well, I can't. I think it depends.(Magi123 08:35, April 7, 2011 (UTC))

Malcolm Holmes[]

The article incorrectly states that one has to kill Malcolm Holmes to get his 6 caps. With even a very low pick pocket skill its possible to lift these of him. Also Thomas and Janice can be pick pocket if you don't want to kill her or cant talk him out of them.122.106.24.69 05:24, June 15, 2011 (UTC)

Mojave Outpost cap[]

for me the bottle and cap where on he counter facing the back wall, not the counter as you come in.

Console code[]

What is the Sunset Sarsparilla star cap console code for cheating?--Thehikki (talk) 17:55, February 15, 2014 (UTC)

  • It's listed in the page for the item. It's the base ID. (under the picture.) 00103b1c is the ID though for you. I'd also suggest downloading the GECK for New Vegas. This way you can easily check the ID's of any item.Deadling (talk) 18:15, February 15, 2014 (UTC)
    • Thanks!
    • I'm playing New Vegas on Steam - is it bannable to use GECK?
      • Not bannable by any means. All PC users have to go through Steam sadly. The GECK just allows you to look up items, make your items and mods and so forth. Nothing wrong with it. The only thing that seems to affect Steam's ranking and trophies is using god mode. Oh and the GECK is provided by Bethesda for modders. Deadling (talk) 18:22, February 15, 2014 (UTC)
