has anyone else noticed that the strength gain in this perk and the other spine-related perk aren't directly to your core s.p.e.c.i.a.l. by that i mean that the gain won't be taken into effect when leveling up. it's considered an effect which is normal to some temporary stat gain perks (e.g. solar powered) but not to permanent stat gain perks (e.g. all the special implants from the NV medical center) and the permanent trait effect of small frame. I'm not sure whether this is intentional or not or whether anyone else also has noticed this or even if i have a glitch and everyone else's does add to the core strength. this affects me on both this perk and the reinforced spine perk. if anyone has any other information could they please add to this talk page or the reinforced spine talk page.

I noticed that too. Pissed me off when I found out because I was counting on it being permanent for certain perks. I too want to know if this was an oversight. If so, perhaps there's a mod to correct this until a bugfix. 67.176.139.21 17:02, August 3, 2011 (UTC)jonsarik

This is probably old news but it's because you can switch between this perk and "Reinforced Spine" which gives slightly different state boosts. I was disappointed too. (Troper of the Wastelands 14:31, August 5, 2011 (UTC))

Why the Dissapointment?[]

Am I missing something here? What does it matter if the boosts from the perk are "temporary effects". Does it not adding to your core SPECIAL hinder you ability to use weapons with high strength requirements or something?

By intentionally making the effect act as a temporary bonus, it will not increase your base strength, and thus can't be used to qualify for perks.--SushiSquid 07:19, October 6, 2011 (UTC)
