Pip-Boy glove disappearing[]

This has happened to me on the PC. I didn't notice it until I read about it here. I'll see if I can get a picture for confirmation.

They need to hire more testers.[]

This is bullshit. I know fallout is famous for it's ridiculous bugs, but this is just TOO much, making a quest that HAS to be done to continue the story buggy? COME ON!!! WTF!!!?? Are they not even trying anymore?! it's a game breaking bug for crying out loud. They should of just removed the damn quest all together until fixed if they're to lazy to fix it,not just hope for the freaking best and leave it in the game. They need to test their games better before release. Seriously,I don't mind the wait. I want quality, not crap Bethesda and i KNOW they can do it. Look at Oblivion? It was practically bug free!! This bullshit only started once they made Fallout 3 and new vegas.... Lionheart777 23:36, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

"making a quest that HAS to be done to continue the story buggy?" -> Walk into Manny's room, use his computer. Continue quest. Usernametaken 17:20, December 23, 2010 (UTC)
1)Or -> Go up to the Dino's mouth during the day, take out a shotgun, blast (Who da) Man...ny out of the snipers nest, go down, loot body. Continue quest.
2)Not Bethesda, Obsidian.
3) I'm on my 6th playthrough, no bugs with this quest yet. And I'm on PS3.JASPER//"Do you like hurting other people?"UserRichard 17:28, December 23, 2010 (UTC)

What about the Ranger Helmet?[]

On this page it's stated in the notes that the Rebreather is the only item to give the player water breathing. This is not true, however, as the Ranger helmet is another item to give the player water breathing. I've changed the page contents because of this information. --CptMuddles 13:53, January 2, 2011 (UTC)

The ranger helmet has no effects. Nitty Tok. 14:11, January 2, 2011 (UTC)
I think you'll find it does. --CptMuddles 03:27, January 3, 2011 (UTC)
I think you'll find that it doesn't; nearly drowned my ass swimming out of the Lakelurk caves at Camp Guardian while wearing both the Ranger Helmet and Combat Amor. --Avarast 14:38, July 3, 2011 (UTC)

Boone bug?[]

(PC version) If I put on the space suit, Boone gives a "I told you I wouldn't work against the NCR" and leaves. He doesn't do the same thing if I wear anything else I've found so far. I can't find anyone talking about this online, so I'm assuming this is just rare bug? Does anyone else have experience with this one? --70.58.156.214 13:03, January 18, 2011 (UTC)

I had it happen once, but there have been a couple of patches since then and I haven't tested it lately.

Bug Fixed - Permanently Removes Pip-boy Glove[]

The space suit no longer removes your Pip-boy glove on the PS3 version(1.4.0.514).

I have now deleted the PS3 image from the page. --72.177.165.50 04:20, July 8, 2011 (UTC)

Multiple Space Suits?[]

I followed the uh, "Followers", out of the Research Lab and they didn't spawn! They just appeared in the room with the rocket in the basement. Is that because of a patch update or is my game glitched or am i just doing something wrong? 'cause i want a bunch of space suits! --DrunkenSushi 04:22, August 8, 2011 (UTC)

you can catch them if you move fast they got stuck after the basement door for me but i had to run right after them, then i killed the two followers and took their suits, and everytime i go back, hey two more suits. im going to reverse pickpocket with them to spice things up. cannot wear them but anyone else can. xbox360 confirmed--64.126.90.132 20:32, November 2, 2011 (UTC)

Glitch moved from page[]

For further acquisitions, after talking with Jason Bright after you clear out the Nightkin, follow him through the basement into a viewing area for the rockets. Talk to Jason Bright and exit the conversation. He will walk away and, as he goes through the hatch, go into V.A.T.S. and use an unarmed or melee weapon against him. By ways of the glitch, you will find yourself in the area with rockets. From there you may continue on with exterminating the Bright Followers and collecting their space suits and helmets. After that, the ONLY way to exit the area is to walk into the un-rendered area. It will make you fall into the hallway where you entered the basement. This may take several tries. --Kingclyde 03:21, August 18, 2011 (UTC)

Why can't a suit supposedly designed to let you breathe in the vaccumn of deep space, also allow you to breathe under water?[]

Any ideas why the designers missed this obvious flaw?

I would wager that it was damaged by the great war, or was made poorly by the ghouls, but I'm just speculating :) 95.144.12.78 21:45, October 22, 2012 (UTC)

Helmet + 1st Recon beret compatible? Also, it doesn't lose condition?[]

"You can wear the space suit helmet over the riot gear helmet found in Lonesome Road and Boone's Beret."

This was not my experience -- I found that wearing a space suit helmet automatically took off my 1st recon beret, and vice versa. Is this from an earlier version of the game or something? Or does it only apply if you have Lonesome Road or something even though the 1st recon beret and space suit helmet are both in the core game?

Also, does anyone know why the space suit helmet doesn't loose condition, and are we sure it's the case? I haven't observed it decaying, I admit, but it seems like a little bit of a funny feature to have it deviate that way from the normal system of losing condition. Is it a consequence of it having no weight, with the game somehow tricked into thinking it's an undecaying quest item? It is just a special feature of the space suit helmet?

Idhan (talk) 21:07, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

That's as good a theory as anything. There's no scripts or object effects attached to it. It only has 10HP, so if it did take any damage, one shot would probably break it. It might also be because it's not marked in the GECK as a hair-replacing object like other helmets. --97.73.64.143 16:40, August 7, 2013 (UTC)

Making "Unequippable" gear equipable[]

The article mentions that you can wear grayed-out Space Suit and Helm by dropping them and picking them back up. Playing on PC I've noticed that when I dropped the Space Helmets in stacks, (my example: 6), they all left my inventory, but on the ground I only found 1 item, "Space Helmet" instead of "Space Helmet (6)". When I picked it back up, I got only 1 helmet, but it was wearable. I got around this by reloading and dropping them one at a time. This was only true for the Helmet, I can drop the entire stack of Space Suits, picked them back up and had 6 wearable Space Suits. 74.83.233.101 01:22, May 13, 2015 (UTC)
