What kind of ending this is... Making the story so unstable to develop a canon, an expansion, only leaving another option to play on another location but parallel times.

And, not to mention, lets say you rejected Eden and purified water. What does that mean? Soon, everywhere will look like Oasis? Please... That's just destroying a big story.

I don't think its so much as looking like Oasis, because it doesn't allow for plants to grow in irradiated soil, etc. It just cleans the radiation out of the drinkable water. I hope not, because that would lower the ending to even deeper depths of lameness.

I salute Bethesda for what they've done... Goekhan 18:31, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Can anyone provide citation confirming that the aim of Project Purity was to clean the whole Potomac? If not, this statement should be deleted from article. Modrzej 00:03, February 9, 2010 (UTC)

I don't believe there is any evidence at all they had intended to clean the entire river, only pump water from it, run it through the purifier, then deposit it in to a clean tidal basin for bottling and distribution. Trying to clean the entire river would be absurd given the location seeing that the river drains in to the Atlantic ocean nowhere north of the memorial would get the water. Not only that but irradiated water flowing south would contaminate the water outflow from the project making the entire thing a senseless waste of time and effort.--75.26.20.181 10:51, March 4, 2013 (UTC)

Broken Steel Ending[]

Finnally they raised level cap and let us carry on, every playthrough was a huge anti climax, now we can carry on to infinite time. I've always been afraid to play the last quest. So What happens now if we go along with Eden's FEV plan, does everyone die?

No everyone does not die. They are just sick a fuck. Onipix 13:55, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Problem with purified water?[]

  • Playing on the PS3, I activated the purifier and the Tidal Basin is still irradiated. Does this happen to everyone? Does this only happen to PS3?
  • Same with me anyone knows how to fix this?

SIGN YOUR POSTS! It is a un-comon bug, but then again the PS3 version has alot of bugs.Vault 815 15:49, May 2, 2010 (UTC)

Longevity?[]

How long did Project Purity last? Is it ever stated in-game? I should assume some time over nine months, since (seemingly obvious-ish by Better Days) the Lone Wanderer was concepted in the Jefferson Memorial, as well as born there. Any insights? SamtheDeathclaw 22:02, June 8, 2010 (UTC)

It never is stated, just one of many holes in the story. I'd say several years maybe five or more at least since they would have had to come up with the idea, build a team, get it funded somehow, build all those walkways/pipes/control room, seal off the tidal basin so no irradiated water/outside muck could get in, and run the failed tests prior to the main story.--75.26.20.181 10:45, March 4, 2013 (UTC)

A hall full of Brahmin[]

On a visit to project purity I found a water carrying Brahmin in the hallway I figured it had run away when the project was attacked (respawning enclave soldiers)

Later I found a second Brahmin and two rivet city security officers.

Any idea how to get them out of there and back on the road?

Followers missing after Purity activation[]

GOTY Edition. If choosing to Activate Project Purity youself, you tell your follower + Dogmeat to wait and then activate the purifier getting stunned by the energy spike in the process, and waking up two weeks later at the Citadel, you will find both followers missing, nowhere to be found, but still listed as your follower, making it impossible to recruit a new follower.Confirmed with Fawkes,Star Paladin Cross and Dogmeat.

Since the energy spike was your death and games end in the earlier edition then perhaps it figures that telling them to wait still vanishes them from the game.--1000HrsFallout3 (talk) 21:31, December 11, 2014 (UTC)

Fate[]

So now that Fallout 4 is out, what do you think happened to Project Purity? I mean given all we know about the BoS, they seem to still have some sort of presence in DC. So do you think they eventually shut it down, kept it running, or kind of just left it?

Well, it is told by Deacon that one can drink the water in Capital Wasteland, for it is clean. Could this be the canon (or partly canon) that the Lone Wanderer had finished the project without applying the FEV? ☢ Energy X ☣ 09:37, June 20, 2016 (UTC)
