Reward[]

You gain NCR fame for this I believe, I completed it recently but don't remember what it gave as I was wrapping up the final NCR quests before siding completely with Caesar. Mictlantecuhtli 15:45, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

It is completly broken. I fixed the machine, made a deal with caravan company and brought the additive to him but no reward at all.. I dont even think I got any discount 78.108.108.247 10:33, April 19, 2012 (UTC)Sokoro

I did eventually get a discount, after doing everything. I'm also idolized with NCR, in case that matters (it doesn't seem to with most other NCR vendors). The discount appears similar to the Novak shop discount, around 90% for sales and 100% for purchases. But since his caps are minimal and inventory nearly useless, it's largely irrelevant anyway. I'm not getting the option to give him the additive, although I got it ages ago in the Vault. Any known causes/fixes? --GrazerMagic 20:39, June 8, 2012 (UTC)

I was able to talk to Fitz, Ruby Nash and Blake by NOT choosing the next dialogue line "Can anything be done to improve your supplies?". Exit the conversation when this line first becomes available and you will be able to talk to Fitz and the rest to get them to supply Farber.

However, upon return to Farber, I was still unable to complete the quest as the dialogue line relating to Fitz does not go away like the Blake and Ruby ones do after you choose them.

The line is "I found a merchant named Fitz who agreed to sell meat to McCarran". While Farber responds to it, the dialogue line does not disappear and choosing to give him the food additive does not remove it from my inventory and does not close the quest i.e. no NCR fame.220.255.2.43 15:04, June 7, 2014 (UTC)

I just completed this quest (by arranging supplies with Blake), and didn't get any NCR fame (or at least no notification), so I'm removing the "verification overdue" note and categorization. Speaker to Lampposts (talk) 09:55, January 1, 2015 (UTC)

Bug rewrite[]

The current bug stating "You are unable to talk to either Ruby Nash or Fitz about the food supplies." Is only half true. As mentioned on Fitz' page as long as the player does not ask "Can anything be done to improve your supplies?" with Farber, than both Ruby Nash and Firz can be asked to supply meat. I have just done this myself on Xbox.

1? Pot[]

The note given for this quest mentions 1(!) Pot needed, while you need two. Not sure if this was fixed in a patch.

I can confirm that at least on the most recent PS3 version of the basic game you only need one pot. I've just fixed the machine. After scouring the land for steam gauge assemblies and pressure cookers I can now buy purified water from the cook for 23 caps instead of 25. Yay. 51.6.240.241 21:12, July 16, 2018 (UTC)
Yep, GECK says it's one pot, not two.

5 or 2 Pieces?[]

This article indicates that 5 pieces of Scrap Metal are needed for the "Not Worth a Hill of Corn or Beans" quest. When reading the "Scrap Metal" article, it references this quest, but indicates that only 2 pieces are needed.

Which one is it, 5 pieces or 2 pieces?

Radscorpion Glands and Ruby's Casserole[]

The "Official Guide Book" (page 40, regarding the Collectibles: Radscorpion Glands) indicates that Cpl William Farber "is also interested in sampling some as part of the Free Quest: Not Worth a Hill of Corn and Beans." If that is true, should this article referene that as part of the quest-line?

Ruby Nash not a supplier?[]

Unless it's related to her recipe (requiring you to gather 2 radscorpion venom sacks - I didn't bother doing this) there is no dialogue option to get Ruby Nash to supply McCarran with any meat.--77.101.211.23 16:40, March 23, 2013 (UTC)

What are the quest stages to advance the quests by console?
