In the house with the Gutsy prototype, there's a non-interactive, but labelled (when you hover over it), Welding Gun on the bench near the door. Just a minor oddity, unless it's part of a mission I haven't seen... 124.168.93.25 00:29, October 24, 2010 (UTC)

Additionally, if you leave the trapped house then re-enter some time later, one of the bark scorpions can appear outside of the cage. 124.168.93.25 08:39, October 24, 2010 (UTC)

Safe full of goodies?[]

Where is it in that house mentioned at the Notable Loot?

I'm also not seeing it. Looked behind the counter, etc.

Is it safe?[]

Is it safe to put items in the average locked safe in the house with Mr. Gusty? Or should I transfer them to the hotel room in Novac?

--62.252.11.194 18:39, December 1, 2010 (UTC) I was using it for a while, then panicked about potential re-spawning losses when the Mr Gutsy regenerated and moved my gear to Novac. Very convenient with the Workbench and the house across the street has a Reloading bench. Part of me wishes I'd stayed there.

Scorpions[]

The scorpion cage is hardly a danger. Various parts of their bodies stick out through the cage and can be easily damaged without fear of being attacked back. Should this be mentioned in the article? 86.42.206.36 13:49, October 28, 2010 (UTC)

There is a trigger to open the cage doors when you enter the bathroom. What is noteworthy is that the scorpions respawn after a time and will come out of the cage even if the doors are closed - PC version.

Bug[]

I killed all the legion guys out front from range. So the named guy didn't come out. After taking them out, I approached and the named legion guy came out and offered me the quests. After rejecting him and killing him, I noticed there were no bodies hung up. All the crosses were empty.--Crossmr 04:38, November 7, 2010 (UTC)

player housing... ???[]

i am currently using the first house you see to your right when fast-traveling to nipton (across from the general store) and i have yet to lose anything from any of the storage containers... i think it's safe to say this house is a usable place for housing... and after looking at the rest of the town homes, i would think that every house is safe for player housing, all containers are not owned, nor are any beds in town... it's a ghost town... i'll post here if i end up losing anything but, i've been using that particular house for about 4 gained levels now and about 2 weeks in-game time with no issues...

there's a campfire by the trailers, the trailers near the bark scorpions (which re-spawn every few days)... and there's also a reloading bench and workbench in the houses to the east of the town hall... i am liking this location for player housing thus far... it's even got some nice landscaping with fire throughout the town and powder gangers nailed to telephone poles, lol...

some of the houses have traps, scorpions and mines so, they aren't all good places for housing but, the majority of the buildings seem to be nice locations... - artistadam 17:09, December 1, 2010 (UTC)

Star Wars[]

Should it be noted that outside the house with the Workbench there is a reference to Star Wars. Luke's Uncle and Aunt are laying burnt on the ground near a smashed house and tipped over bus.

xbox glitch: Boone will not enter Town Hall First Floor[]

Someone may wish to confirm this glitch: Boone would not enter the Town Hall (First Floor) but teleported to the Assembly Floor when my character went into the floor. The particular instance was after we had killed all the legion personnel outside the hall. --Sp3lly 03:09, January 17, 2011 (UTC)

Possible bug - inactive worn key[]

Playing on a PC, E-DE as companion, very hard mode, after killing all the legionnaires and entering the TH, the mine went off behind the counter and although it could be seen, the key was unobtainable. It seemed to be trapped half under one of the pigeon hole partitions. Bwilderbeast 09:27, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

Turns out that chucking a hand grenade behind the counter frees the key and makes it available again.Bwilderbeast 18:40, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

loot not listed[]

Can't believe it's not listed here but in the gutsy house there is a laser rifle in the bath tub and another .357 revolver in the toilet tank. JerichoRCDF 23:09, April 11, 2011 (UTC)

Mailbox magazine postings[]

Several contributors are posting occurrences of skill magazines in mailboxes as if they were fixed items in the level design. As far as I can tell from the PC version, mailbox contents are still randomly generated.

Do the console versions work differently on this point? And if not, might a senior editor please remove these entries and replace with a link to the page on Mailboxes, which should be updated with a list of what has been found in such containers? Because that's where people should be posting their random mailbox finds on a wiki. Zyburger 12:15, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

Strange Occurrence[]

After fast travelling to Nipton and walking up to the door of the Hall, i left my PS3 for a time and returned just in time to find a Jackal Gang Member approach and attack me. I'm not sure where she came from or how exactly she managed to engage combat with me in the middle of Nipton. Can anyone confirm this appearance or shed any light? LOLifulykpie 6:00, June 24, 2011 (UTC)

On the way to Nipton and Novac, I ran into at least 6 of the Jackal gang members and probably 15 viper gunslingers. Not strange.

Bark scorpion doing mercy kills?[]

I thought this was pretty strange and didn't see this listed. I had already been to Nipton and spoken with Vulpes Inculta. Legion cleared out, I looted and left. I returned to loot some more, and when I left a house, I discovered a single bark scorpion going from cross to cross, cutting down the Powder Gangers, etc. After it cut them all down, it came after me, but with no attack music, etc. It still showed as an enemy, I killed it, and that was that. Any one else experience this? DeathclawHugger 18:36, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Bark Scorpions will attack pretty much anything on sight. Just depends on how far away from the trailers they wander. User:Great_MaraUser talk:Great_Mara 18:40, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Bark scorpions and centaurs are known to spawn in Nipton after the Legion leaves. Paladin Dark 18:40, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Crucified NPCs glitch[]

Entered the town, coming from Nipton Road Pit Stop, turned around the corner at the Nipton General Store and while Vulpes Inculta, his squad and the mongrels were there as expected, there were no crucified NPCs. I even reloaded a save from before approaching the town, several times, but the telegraph poles always remained empty. I then entered the store, talked a bit to Boxcars, collected all the junk laying around and when I exited to the outside, the crucified NPCs were eventually there. This is on PCPC, Ultimate Edition of the game. Om3ro (talk) 12:23, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

Small error on the article?[]

"Inside the hall itself, you will find many Legion mongrels. They are automatically hostile, even if dressed as a member of Caesar's Legion, but do not inflict bad Karma when killed. " Shouldn't it be "do not inflict Legion infamy"? It has been a looong time since I last visited Nipton(I don't even have the game disc for now), so I can't confirm it by myself, I will fix it anyway. If I'm wrong, please undo it.
