I want to assault and kill everyone in this location. Is it possible or do they spawn endlessly? TheTrueBlue 02:53, October 22, 2010 (UTC) >>>>And what the hell is with the karma system? I LOSE karma for taking supplies away from mass-murdering bandits? And how did I fail "I Fought the Law" quest by killing Eddie (and everyone else in the admin building). I've never even seen that quest before. Isn't it supposed to not pop up?TheTrueBlue 03:02, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

I failed the quest also, and couldn't put in Meyers as the sheriff of Primm because he becomes hostile if you attack the powder gangers. I went in guns blazing (actually sniped quite a few from outside the fence with the weather 10mm pistol) though, that may make a difference between him being hostile or friendly. Supposedly Eddie is the only person who can give the I fought the law quest, so it fails if he dies (even though you've completed one of the objectives (help the ncr take back the prison) required). Mictlantecuhtli 04:04, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
How do you get assigned to take the prison by the NCR? Who you do talk to? TheTrueBlue 05:47, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
You speak to Eddie and agree to find out what the NCR is up to, then betray the powder gangers and switch sides to the NCR (the only way to support the NCR in their campaign to retake the prison). Mictlantecuhtli 05:57, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
As soon as I go in there they attack me. When I first went, I bribed the guard 100 caps, then 5 seconds later (before I went in), he immediately turned on me, so I capped him. As I walk through the prison they recognize and start to attack me. Now with chems I could reach Eddie with minimal damage, but would I even be able to talk to him? (I was vilified with Powder Gangers before I ever visited the NCRCF.)TheTrueBlue 07:44, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

I was vilified with them also. I doubt you could speak to Eddie/Meyers without a powder ganger uniform, one way to avoid becoming villified is to kill in Sneak, if you can avoid being seen by other enemies until [Caution] goes back to hidden you'll not lose reputation killing NCR, Gangers, Legion, etc. Mictlantecuhtli 12:59, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

I put on a powder ganger's uniform with no helmet. The NCRCF map marker goes "Neutral". I walk up... and I get shot at by random NPCs with some others ignoring me. I stealth-boy and sneak to Eddie, but can't speak to him, he attacks as soon as I get close. I think I'll just console edit the infamy level until I start the quest, then reset it. So much for the "faction costume" feature. TheTrueBlue 20:30, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
Ok I figured out there was some NPC named Hannigan that I had pissed off and was chasing me around for some reason. So I popped open the console, typed in "kill", and now the costume works correctly... lol... TheTrueBlue 20:37, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
Nevermind, some powder gangers still randomly attack me, but at least I got the quest from Eddie successfully. But it only says "deal with Chavez". How can I get the option to betray them to the NCR? TheTrueBlue 20:40, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
Ok I snipe the uniformed guards with console "kill" commands, and setav aggression 0 for Eddie so he doesn't attack me. When I get the option to betray them, I'll resurrect all the guards and reset Eddie's aggression level. Hurray! I think... TheTrueBlue 20:52, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
Ok, it worked more or less. See a cool explosion, rush into the prison with a dozen NCR troopers, slaughter and loot everyone. (Including Dawes again, since I resurrected him.) Quest is completed instead of "failed". Justice is served. TheTrueBlue 21:26, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
I think I have the answer some of you are looking for. When you enter the compound wearing a powder ganger disguise Dawes recognizes you as a fake. I believe the same holds true for any of the unique named powder gangers (ie Eddie and Hannigan). With the exception of Dawes any of the other named powder gangers will attack you on sight if your faction rep is too low when not disguised. If you return fire any remaining generic powder gangers in the area will also join the fray.67.149.196.9 14:19, October 29, 2010 (UTC)

-i was able to still get the quest from eddie even with being vilified and slaughtering the entire place except him.

the trick to is if you sneak up to the doorway and rush the table and click to speak to him before the cursor turns red, he will talk to you like nothing is going on, give you the quest, and what have you.

if you back up fast enough he will just sit in his chair. if not he will get up and attack you and you will have to run off and hide.

it might take a couple tries to get the timing down, but its entirely possible to cheese it out. the thing is with a powder ganger uniform on they dont detect you until you are at very close range, so if you can close the distance fast enough before he goes hostile, you can get passed it.

i had a 9 agility (no implant yet) and agility does increase run speed, so it might be impossible with a low agility character.

Here's an oddity that I observed: after successfully completing the quest "I fought the law" by betraying Eddie, Mr. New Vegas announces that the NCR retake failed. It of course didn't but that doesn't seem to matter. Also, why are all the drops still red? The previous "owners" are dead.

The reason that Dawes is able to see through your disguise and attack you is because hes a guard and guards as well as guard dogs of ANY faction can see through disguises(faction armor).

missing person[]

Trying to take out NCRCF, took out everyone inside, and now Dawes is gone and the door is locked. Does he go anywhere or am I screwed? 360 version

Did You Kill Dawes when going in?--DMK961 20:09, December 3, 2010 (UTC)

Bypassing Dawes[]

If you want to get in without the use of caps or rep then if you go to the side of the South West side of the compound from the outside. You choose to sit on the out houses close to the fence which will spawn you inside the facility.

Quest Location[]

Where is the quest to start it?--DMK961 19:50, December 3, 2010 (UTC)

Dog outside NCRCF[]

When i arrived at the NCRCF for the first time, vilified by the powder's and not disguised, i noticed a friendly npc in the compass, pointing to the fence just left by the entrance. It was a dog named "dog" and when interacting it opened up its inventory. What could be it ?? A bug ?

-- There are wild dogs outside of the NCRCF that are normally hostile. If you are carrying the Doggie Treat from the shack near the large, cross-shaped memorial north of Goodsprings, then wild canines will be friendly with you. -- DreadPirateMurphy

Any repercussions..[]

For the heck of it, at level 4-5 I managed to kill every power-ganger in the facility (it was actually quite fun). I have yet to actually finish any quests yet. Is it better to go back to a save prior to doing this or will this just let my fight them any chance I get? My karma did go up for doing this and I did get Meyers to go back to Prim to possibly become the sheriff. I have not gone after Cooke yet. Thanks.

Locked Out[]

After killing everyone in the courtyard from outside of the gates with a silenced sniper rifle, I went on and killed the guards in the towers who were shooting at me because I missed the last ganger in the courtyard and he found me out. So after killing every ganger, I had realised I never had a key, and Dawes was no-where in sight, so I was basically locked out. User:ValoR

Do the Powder Gangers respawn after you kill all of them?[]

If you wipe out the entire camp will any respawn? I want to use it as a safehouse, but don't want enemies spawning in it every few hours. Does it matter whether you wipe them out in the quest or just by yourself? Any help would be appreciated. GSix 06:48, January 18, 2011 (UTC)

Another way in...[]

It should probably be mentioned that another way to get in without paying or pickpocketing Dawes is to complete the Run Goodsprings Run quest by helping Joe Cobb and the Powder Gangers take over Goodsprings. After that they'll let you in free of charge. (At least in my version of the game) --174.26.103.170 04:24, March 14, 2011 (UTC)

This is true, but if you attack any Powder Gangers along the way you risk gaining infamy and thus losing your free entrance pass to the NCRCF. I gained entrance by completing Run Goodsprings Run and sneaking past Jean Sky Diving and the trailer with two Powder Ganger patrols and to the NCRCF. 173.76.208.189 01:54, June 7, 2011 (UTC)

I helped the NCR take back the prison and killed every Powder Ganger in the place, but after awhile, I tune in to the radio and Mr. New Vegas says the NCR was defeated and then the NCR attacks me for no reason even though I have a good reputation with the NCR. Is this a glitch? (Steven Bryan-May 21:39, July 20, 2011 (UTC)Steven Bryan-May)

Alarm[]

Normally the alarm plays forever but this playthrough, I fast travelled to the front of the prison from inside the grounds immediately after doing the mission and when I arrived the alarm was off. I then fast travelled to Goodsprings and back and it remained off. I the fast travelled to the skydiving place and walked to it and it was still off. If someone can repeat that it's probably worth adding. 94.9.123.187 17:12, August 1, 2014 (UTC)

Assaulting the facility[]

There's talk about assaulting this with the NCR but no mention of what the quest is called and how you start it. When does this happen?? --108.173.141.116 05:20, February 15, 2015 (UTC)

It happens in the quest I Fought the Law, depending on who you side with. Richie9999 (talk) 05:23, February 15, 2015 (UTC)
