When does she take her medicine? Is there a set time of day or trigger event? Or is it compleatly random? This needs to be notes.JASPER//"Do you like hurting other people?"UserRichard 18:50, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

She takes her medicine after you talked to her about Leo and the event is completelly random. Usually is one or two in-game days after the dialog, but if you haven't talked to her at all - as I did in one occasion - the event will be delayed a lot. Brfritos 00:16, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

The easier method[]

This unmarked quest can be triggered without much delay if you use Guess Who I Saw Today to your advantage.

  • recrut Lily and speak with her about the experiment
  • before going to the cave talk to Lily again and ask about Leo and her past
  • let some of the Nightstalker attack Lily until she has a psychotic break. I was shortcuting the game to get Arcade Tesla armor and was at level 13, with a very high energy weapons skill, so I had no trouble in killing them. Be carefull to not let Lily became overwhelmed by too many Nighstalkers or she'll die (I was in harcore, obviously).

After this only the medicine part has to be completed, wich should happen in a couple of days. Then go to sleep and complete the quest. Brfritos 04:35, January 24, 2011 (UTC)

  • The first and second conditions are easy and fast. For the third I went to the lucky 38, waited 48 hrs (game time), then look at her and then I went to have dinner for 30 minutes approx (real time), didn't put pause or anything, I came back and I talked to her and the thing about the pills was there. For the fourth condition, I slept for 10 hours (game time), in the lucky 38, then I looked at her, put the controller down and went to watch some tv for 40 mins approx. Came back, spoke at her and the thing about the recoding was there.

The easiest method to get her recording started is to use the console commands: set "160267".fresttimer to 1 set "160267".bdoonce to 1

To get her to take her medicine, try set "160267".ftimer to -1 set "160267".bMedicineTime to 1 --Lampuiho (talk) 10:20, October 10, 2012 (UTC)

  • Should this be added to the main page? This is a huge help since it's normally completely random for when these two events happen. Ganondorf 04:29, April 25, 2014 (UTC)

Except that it does not work. "missing variable name in set command".

Options in Guess Who I Saw Today[]

Was anyone able to complete this quest after choosing to let Lily wear the stealth boy mark II prototype? It doesn't seem like it would be possible... Jdw 06:03, January 25, 2011 (UTC)

Holotape?[]

The holotape of Lily's grandchildren played but I didn't get a chance to hear it. Can someone post a transcript of what's said or a console command to get it to play?

I've had Lily say "Medicine time!" or "Time to take my medicine!" and I don't know if she is supposed to have an animation or not but no dialogue appears afterward to allow me to progress with her loyalty quest.

I've had the same problem do you have to wait or something?

(Don't know if this is still useful since I have no clue when this request was originally made...) Kids: Grandma's here, grandma's here! Yay! Lily: Oh my goodness, look at these little angels. Becky, that dress looks so lovely. And Jimmy, oh, my word, how you've grown. Jimmy: I'm four whole feet, grandma. Becky: Did you bring us presents grandma? Grandma: Well now, I don't know. Have you been good to your mommy and daddy? Becky: Yes! Lily: Well now, let grandma see what she's got... Soledestiny 06:09, May 31, 2011 (UTC)

Not likeley[]

It says in the notes that uncle leo likeley met lily at mariposa base after the two became supermutants, uncle leo was NOT created at mariposa, he was created at Vault 87 on the other side of the country in DC. Leo is just lilly's aggression manifested.

Console command for medicine - or time before she takes it[]

I might come across as impatient, but I've been dragging her around for 48 in-game hours now, waiting for her to take her damn medicine. Is there a console command to make her take it, or alternately - how long time do i have to wait.

I think the event is random? Just talk to her every once in a while. I had been resting/sleeping for a few days, fast traveled a few places, and hadn't seen her take her medicine. But when I was about to give up and kick her out of the group, I decided to check the talk options and found the option to ask about her medicine. So it's possible you might miss the event actually happening. Dunno if there's a command for it... I don't play the PC version. --Soledestiny 02:24, June 13, 2011 (UTC)

Stat bonuses?[]

The article states that her stats change. To what do they change exactly? It doesn't define what they change to. If better, then by how much? Or, if worse, then how much? --Xclockwatcher 17:04, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

You make a very good point. This is what I wanted to know, can someone please put the stats on the page??? BigBoss 10/28/11

Does anyone else feel like figuring this out? I just bought the game and all content so I'd like to know what her final stats would be if i choose her.IXISHIVERIXI (talk) 02:52, December 18, 2012 (UTC)

How do I know if I've accomplished this?[]

I had Lily a while ago and talked with her. Returning to her as a companion, to make sure I'd done her quest, I spoke with her and asked what types of pills she takes. She said they're anti-psychotics. There was no further dialog in that line of questioning. She references Leo a lot and I asked her about Leo, with options to tell her he doesn't exist. Once that done, I went to a place that had Fire Geckos and let her fight them. She almost died with only a couple of bars of health left before I killed the other Geckos, but I didn't hear her have a psychotic breakdown. I also waited a few hours to see what would happen but nothing did. I don't believe I ever heard the recording of the grandchildren, either, but it's possible I was out of the room or was listening to the radio and couldn't hear it. Regardless, I haven't had any more dialog options to talk about her grandchildren. So, in short, I may have talked to her and concluded her quest, but I don't know if I did. Is there a sure-fire way to see if her quest is over? Kind of a weird request, but I'll throw it out there. Thank you! -MJM

When her psychotic breakdown occurs there will be a pop-up message in the center of your screen informing you. You will have to press "ok" to make it go away, but could miss it if hitting buttons quickly. I'm not sure about a way to check otherwise. --Lastarael (talk) 04:18, August 3, 2013 (UTC)

When does she play the tape?[]

I've completed all the steps and then slept. She still hasn't played the tape. How long after waiting/sleeping does she play the tape?--Epsilon616 01:09, August 11, 2011 (UTC)

2 MJM and Epsilon616[]

I believe she'll only have a psychotic break after taking a crippling/critical damage. In my case, she had an accidental breakdown in the Charleston Cave (the very first nightstalker did the trick, along with dealing some minor damage to her). Also one can shoot her till it happens (she won't become hostile).

As for the medicine dialogue option, it took a lot of time. I managed to make it happen with waiting for a whole night (it was getting dark when returned from the cave), then combining 1-hour in-game periods with real-time 1-5 min. periods and talking to her about Leo and herself all the timeā€¦ and it happened, at last. First, new dialogue option about the Master emerged ("What happened then?"), though I'm not sure it was new one (I could miss the one before), then I was able to ask her about the medicine she's taking (when waiting in "real-time", she mumbled "Hush, Leo" and something about her medicine).

Making her play the holotape was the easiest part and took only 1 more period of in-game waiting. It was 20:54 on Pip-Boy clocks when the holotape played, and it happened right after coming from waiting mode. Unlike the previous dialogue options needed for the quest, the tape one wasn't buried mile deep in the other options.

All in all, it took about 35-40 minutes (real-time). I was having a lunch and watching a TV, so it didn't bother me greatly to spend so much time on the development of this (minor) quest; still, I wish there was a "backdoor" of some kind made by the game developers specifically for those who don't want to take Lily as a long-time companion but wish to take the quest and determine game ending for her. Anyway, getting this quest started was much, much easier for me than doing the trick with I Forgot to Remember to Forget.

Bugs[]

There is a bug with this quest, at least on XBOX. If you complete the triggers and rest in an area with "background noise" like the strip or the monorail station, the tape doesn't seem to play. I had to leave those area and get into the wasteland and then rest before it would play. I am not sure if resting in those areas keeps it from playing at all or just until you rest in the wasteland.

Weapons[]

Does she not like special weapons? I gave her an inverted proton axe and she is still using her default. She even asked for a "good chopper"! *edit: I've also tried "old glory" and "blade of the west".. she still goes for her default.. ? Dragonalumni (talk) 01:26, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

I gave her Oh Baby! during the first quest with her and she went for it immediately. GryphonQ (talk) 05:49, May 11, 2013 (UTC)

I can't get Lilly to say "Medicine time"[]

I've tried on and on to get her to say it, but she just won't! How excactly can I trigger her to say medicine time? Gangr (talk) 17:18, April 6, 2013 (UTC)
