Why does the Brotherhood of Steel attack me after I've spoken to the elder?[]

As soon as I speak to the elder and he gives me the mission to take care of the NCR ranger, the BoS guys immediately attack me for absolutely no reason? Even after I come in with nothing on me, they always turn hostile immediately after I've accepted the Elder's quest (which for some reason I have to do twice because the first time I accept, he treats me like I turned him down). What the hell is that all about? 184.98.216.172 20:54, October 31, 2011 (UTC)

Avoiding its demolition[]

Well, I'm certainly not happy. Colonel Moore wants me to blow it up...is there any way to get through this peacefully? (Part of For the Republic, Part 2, most likely the end of the quest) --Dragon1300 03:39, October 25, 2010 (UTC)

EDIT: Nevermind, found the answer to my own question...just keep McNamara as Elder. --Dragon1300 22:09, October 25, 2010 (UTC)

Instant hostility (WARNING may contain some spoilers, not anything big just a few give-aways)[]

I opened the bunker by following the message from ED-E and finding the password on the dead paladins bodies in the REPCONN headquarters, but when I speak on the intercom and say the password the voice says the normal 'I am sending someone up to meet you' but when the door opens the knights instantly attack me. I haven't met any brotherhood members before in the wasteland, my reputation with hidden valley is neutral and I have very good karma. I am continuing from a save that I previously completed the game on and met with the brother hood of steel in the same way and was not attacked and everything was normal, but i accidentally saved over the save that I made before the 'final battle' during the battle ,so i had to go back to a save where i was in the control room of the HELIOS power plant at the end of 'that lucky old sun' to continue playing.

this has also happened to me on the same continuation of saves when I met ceaser's legion in nipton (which i somehow missed the first time i passed through0, i fast-travelled there and the ceaser's legion troops instantly attacked me, i dont think i had any reputation with ceaser's legion before then but i may have been shunned and it only turned to hated after i killed the attacking troops.

(sorry for massive block of text)

Any advice / theories on cause? thanks 14:49 1st November 2010

It seems like you have NCR faction armor equipped. Try un-equipping it and see if it'll work 74.132.1.90 20:58, November 4, 2010 (UTC)

I have the same issue, no reputation, wearing no armor, BoS is still hostile to me. Even with Veronica in tow. DonutHands 21:49, November 20, 2010 (UTC)

Never found out why it happened but it seems faction related. if you are on the PC you can use a console command to make yourself neutral to them player.removefromallfactions worked for me.

I have the hostility problem as well. The only thing i can imagine to have aggrevated them was to lockpick the door rather early in the game, as they was hostile once i entered back then I just left and saved with the door unlocked. Apart from this i have to my knowledge not done anything to aggrevate them, no armor no nothing. I've also tried a few console commands to no avail.

"hole" in the bunker. Can it be considered a glitch?[]

discarded energy cells box[]

Does NCR-Clothing prevent this box from being filled propperly?

Moving Turrets[]

Anyone else getting this one? The left turret in front of the BoS banner seems to move from its position from right in front of the banner to the corridor to the left of the wall the aformentioned banner is on.

I have the Xbox version with the latest patches and the Dead Money DLC. 90.195.26.43 15:03, February 3, 2011 (UTC)

Locked In[]

Not sure why, but after finishing the quest to join the Brotherhood, I went to leave the bunker only to find that the entry door is locked and needs a key... just as it was before the intercom was ever activated. How am I supposed to get out? 87.194.75.168 11:57, February 26, 2011 (UTC)

You'll have to either pickpocket (if you can) the key from one of the Brotherhood, or kill one and take his/ her key. (Atleast I think you can do this, the option might only be available for when you want to destroy the bunker) AR700SAW 12:38, February 26, 2011 (UTC)

Sneak Kills?[]

I can't seem to sneak kill anyone in the bunker without alerting everyone. Crouched, with a stealth boy and a silenced weapon, nobody around and with all doors closed, everybody still turns hostile. What's the deal here? Doesn't happen anywhere else for me.--86.42.248.200 20:02, March 23, 2011 (UTC)

Companion lost inside, cannot dismiss[]

At some point while destroying the bunker the hard way (killing everyone inside first, THEN initiating the self-destruct sequence), ED-E became lost and I received a message that it was unconscious while I was in L2. After killing everybody, I searched every inch of L2 and L1 for its body but couldn't find anything. I self-destructed, figuring that I either lost ED-E and would simply replace it with Rex, or perhaps ED-E would return to Primm since it was lost.

Now, NPCs will still comment on ED-E yet I can't find it anywhere. Since I'm allied with Caesar's Legion, I cannot enter Caesar's tent and complete Render Unto Caesar because the guard at the tend keeps telling me that I must enter alone - I guess because NPCs think I still have ED-E. I'm using the PS3, so there are no console commands as far as I know. I also haven't downloaded any patches for the game yet since I just got it. Does anybody know how I can fix this? I would really like to complete the game with Caesar's Legion, so I guess I either need to make ED-E come back so I can tell it to wait outside the tent or make NPCs recognize that it's not with me. The same thing happened to me when ED-E's laser blew up an ant in the Nellis generator building - it cascaded and exploded artillary shells that finally did away with him. I suspect he was thrown through a wall. But the result was the same as you described. Unfortunately the only solution for me (360) was to go back to an earlier save file. June 23, 2011

Housing?[]

Lets say I were to mercilessly slaughter all named BOS peeps except tores... could this place be used for safe storage/sleeping/plotting my next assault on mankind? I'm a busy person and was wondering if anyone had determined this yet so that I don't have to wait several FREAKIN weeks to see if my little pistols respawn in their containers or not. —Castor Savage—99.21.205.38 01:45, July 10, 2011 (UTC)

I'll give this a shot, as I like my player housing to have robotic guards, turrets or some other type of defensive measure. I will even booby trap my seized properties to prevent random critters or npc's from approaching me when I fast travel or sneaking in behind me if I didn't notice I was detected when I fast traveled and entered the building. Raising rep[]

Is there any way to raise my rep with the Brotherhood after finishing their quests? I've done both the marked and unmarked ones and am only at the liked status. --173.20.116.189 20:27, July 30, 2011 (UTC)

Lack of hostility[]

For some reason I am able to shoot some of the paladins without them turning hostile immediately. I was able to shoot one of them a good 5 times (I believe it may have been more). The shooting was done with This Machine, normal .308 rounds, while wearing Combat Armor/Helmet Reinforced Mark 2 and the Rebreather.

As for my current standing with them, I just entered with Veronica (only Veronica) and spoke to Nolan, giving me the quest Still in the Dark. I stole some stuff as well, like some power armor and that nice super sledge, but I doubt that would have anything to do with a lack of hostility. And I also don't have them showing up on the reputation list, though I'm guessing that's normal?

It's pretty great, since I can shoot somebody in the arm a few times, and take the weapon they drop with no karma loss. Oh, and when I do so they get into an unarmed fighting stance for a while. That seems pretty normal though. EarthboundD 20:24, November 9, 2011 (UTC)

Crashes in bunker[]

I was having a problem where every time I got in the bunker lvl 1 it crashes before it finishes loading. I tried uninstalling any mods that might cause conflicts, and purged the cell buffers but I don't know what else to do.

VR Pods don't show Tranquility Lane[]

The page states that the VR Pods show images of Tranquility Lane, but this isn't the case, for me. All I see is a blue screen that occasionally flickers. Was it changed in a patch, or with some DLC (I have all of the DLC)?Foxi Hooves (talk) 18:54, April 1, 2014 (UTC)

Electrical Switch in room with terminals on L2[]

Is that electrical switch a glitch or a bad feature? It can turn the power off the all but the 4 center computers, but it does not seem to serve a purpose. When I started the computer virus quest, then turned off the computers, the computer virus was not on any of those 4 terminals.Itamu Time (talk) 17:50, June 24, 2014 (UTC)

When I very first entered the bunker I went up to the locked door wasn't paying attention to the compass and a bunch of paladins came out and the officer said to strip down and I don't know how I got that beginning, does anyone else.

Bunker graffiti reference?[]

Does anyone know a source that the bunker's exterior graffiti (peace, ban-the-bomb, etc.) might be referencing? I ask because it was very clearly copied in the Cartoon Network series The Venture Bros., in the season five (2013) episode "Bot Seeks Bot", for the exterior of a super-villain nightclub called Don Hell's. I wouldn't want to miss a common source. --TheNicestGuy (talk) 12:08, February 8, 2015 (UTC)
