Time Period?[]

Can someone please confirm if this is pre-war or not?

Suicidal Smuggler?[]

When I fast traveled to herzog mine I saw a wooden plank over thee cliff, and a smuggler walked to the end, when I walked up to the plank all I saw was a piece of his head and i checked his body and he had grenades. I reloaded an earlier save and fast traveled to herzog mine again, and he was there again doing the same thing. although before I could check to see if he died my game froze.

Glitch into Floor?[]

there were 2 mirelurk hunters near the end of the cave one of which i punched than i went into vats and targeted the one behind it. i proceeded to glitch into the floor. has this been known to happen in other places? (xbox 360) Ohno21212 23:15, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

hung skeleton bug?[]

should it be noted that if you hit the hung skeleton with fisto! it bleeds?

Smuggler Execution in PC version?[]

Sometimes when entering the mine the player might encounter the body of a smuggler. His body holds a holotape which tells the player why he was killed, but the first time you approach the cliff you can actually see his execution. Some times you get to see it twice, once going into the mine and once while you leave. (PS3)

...do you get the Smuggler Execution in PC version? Maybe I was looking somewhere else, but didn't saw any kind of activity in the cliff...?

Thanks in advance, --212.18.162.33 15:34, December 18, 2009 (UTC)Kay, the Scout

duke[]

herzog is duke in german

a "million million tons"[]

Kenny's reference to a million million tons is unlikely to signify a nuclear detonation near the mine. The manner in which he says it is childish hyperbole, but highly likely to be coined from the word-of-mouth history of the swamp-folk.

Behind the scenes[]

Do we have a source to confirm that Herzog mine is definitely inspired by Herzog Island? It could just as easily be inspired by Werner Herzog, a famous film actor, writer and director, whose work was undoubtedly familiar to the game devs. Given the theatrical staging of the haunted mine, this might be a more likely inspiration than some unknown island 100 miles from the real-life Point Lookout, Maryland.
