Obtaining[]
I was playing last night (on 360) and I was able to reverse pick-pocket the uniform. Instead of saying "General Jingwei's Uniform" it said "Chinese Jumpsuit" I was unable to get the hat, for some reason he wouldn't take it off. First I shot out his sword out of his hands, then I went in the back to where the Chinese sniper on top of the crate. You have to jump on top of the barrel first, then onto the crate (you cannot get onto the top where the sniper is at). You stay hidden in that corner until it goes from "[danger]" to "[hidden]", don't worry he shouldn't be able to see you. Next (you should save right here) you go into 3rd person, and see if general jingwei is facing you. If he is facing your direction, wait till he turns, then you should sneak over to him as fast as you can without getting detected by him. Once you are behind him, save again, then reverse pickpocket one of the two armor you are able to obtain, onto him. You should then use the trick used to get Dad's wasteland outfit to get outside. Once out there, jingwei will probably follow you out, with the armor on you just put on him. What I did next was go on the other side of the wall to your left, he followed me, then I used the paralyzing palm on him (If you have him follow you back towards the base camp he will get shot by american soldiers). While paralyzed, he won't fall down like normal characters, it seems like he wants to fall down inside the chinese compound, but he can't, so instead he backs up next to the wall. You now have 30 seconds to get to the right side of the other wall. Stay there until it goes to hidden, he should go back inside. Follow him back, (while still sneaking) he should be right there when you open the door. Finally reverse pickpocket his armor and voilà . You should now have his armor, although it doesn't say it's his.Tehuberleetmaster 16:53, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Also, it really sucks that you can only have four pieces of armor in this sim. ( 2 winterized combat armor, 1 chinese commando hat, 1 winterized combat helmet) I chose the army repair suit over this. Or you can also get a CSA from a chinese dragoon, but they don't have the steath field as the one does you get after the simulation. >_< Tehuberleetmaster 17:05, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

- Did you shoot the sword out of his hand first? It's really handy if you have the paralyzing palm perk, make sure you set it on very hard so first, you don't accidentally kill him. Did you hide on the yellow crates in the back? it took a while for me for the "CAUTION" to go to "HIDDEN" while on the crates Tehuberleetmaster 00:27, October 21, 2009 (UTC)

i think they didnt put it in mz because we knew what happened to general jingwei he got killed in the refinery remember operation anchorage? -- Elvoblue August 3 2009
But on the terminal in the outpost, it even said that Chase put in stuff that might not have happened or happened a diffrent way. It would have been interesting to find that Jingwei was abducted and only thought to have been killed.

You really don't have to go back onto the crates after he goes back into the compound, if you go into sneak, and go through the doors he should be just right there to pickpocket his suit.(I hate you can't get his hat...stupid damage resistance!) Tehuberleetmaster 00:28, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
- I see that you are the one that thought up all this. I probably understood it wrong but this worked fo me aswell. The reason that you can't get his hat is because it is unplayable and we on the consoles can't use it without the equip command. Kalalokki 16:28, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
easier way[]
i just found a much, much easier way to get jingwei's uniform. it uses the same basic principles, but eliminates the hours of frustration. the problem with the technique as listed in the article is that jingwei just kind of runs around like an idiot. there's too much going on. at one point, i was standing out in the open, right next to him, not even crouched or anything, and he still wouldn't follow me back towards the crates.
instead, just get his attention, and head out the doors, using the third-person swivel trick. with less fighting going on around him, he'll follow you wherever you go. now the trick is losing him. if you run to the pulse-field's switch tower, he'll follow all the way, no problems. now, circle around the ledge of it onto the backside. he'll pop through the little gap under the stairs. if you circle around the front again, and go up into the switch tower, he'll get stuck under the stairs, and quickly lose you. save, and use third person to reverse pickpocket the armor through the floor. now, run outside and back towards the compound. he'll pop out from under the stairs, and proceed to follow you back through the doors. on the other side, he'll have the armor equipped. head back out the doors, and repeat to obtain his jumpsuit.
hi, i found a easier way obtaining it. Just let jingwei follow you outside to the pulse field, then you turn around a bunker (when you at one of the three bunkers, just keep opposite of jing (cat and mouse)) , till he gets bored and walks back to the compound and wait till your hidden from jing (took like 5 min or less), then jing goes slowly back. (Keep a reseanable distance between you two). When hes back at the industry compound, you save before entering, and you will be spawned closely to jing and if you lucky, you still hidden from him, and reverse pick pocket. Then you do it again around the bunker. Srry fo the one above
The paralyzing palm that I told everybody to do in the beginning is the easiest way to do it. You don't have to run around, and he just backs up instead of falling down like a regular npc does. Paralyzing palm is the best way to do this!Tehuberleetmaster 19:31, March 18, 2011 (UTC)
Hat console-only?[]
It could be that he just wont remove it because it has a DR of 6, while the winterized combat helmet has 5. If someone reversed a better helmet, He might take it off. Tzaro the Outcast 22:47, January 24, 2010 (UTC)
I know, but there is no better hat. I was thinking however, if there was someway jingwei could heal himself, you could shoots him a lot (it would take forever cause of the extreme hp), and maybe the hat's DR would drop below 5.Tehuberleetmaster 21:45, January 25, 2010 (UTC)

Difficulty[]
Last night I thought hey what if the difficulty of the game affects how easy or hard it is to get him to stay near you until you're hidden so I changed the difficulty to very hard and he came right over to the crates but he goes all the way into the corner and sees you but if you change it to hard or normal when he's halfway over to you he won't get distracted by someone else but he won't come all the way around and see youTheAdamBomb2 (talk) 15:46, July 29, 2015 (UTC)TheAdamBomb2
My Xbox just shut down cause it was so hot. I've been sitting on the crates in (CAUTION) for about 4 and a half hours is there any way I can speed it up and get to hidden faster.
