Launch Code Discussion[]

I found the "launch codes" to a missile in the ruins of the fort, think they're worth anything?

I ABLE TO USE THE LAUNCH CODE I HEARD A MISSILE LAUNCHED BUT THAT'S ABOUT IT . I DIDN'T LOSE ANY KARMA OR WHEN I GOT OUT FROM THE CO'S HOUSE NO MUSHROOM CLOUD ANYWHERE...I DON'T KNOW WHATS THAT FOR
ICBM stands for inter-continental ballistic missile. so I'm guessing the missile went to like china or something.
It's possible it actually took off to another location not on the Fallout 3 map. It definitely sounds like it took off, but if the computer says the guidance systems were damaged its possible it took off and crashed somewhere, who knows. Maybe one of the endings reveals what happens here ?

Maybe there's some sort of silo on the map, like at one of the other forts or Wheaton Armory. I mean something has to happen, or its just Bethesda messing with us.
Perhaps there is a targeting component one must find and install?
Sifting through the .esm data, the terminal and associated script only causes effects in that cell, no matter what the condition.

Interesting though, isn't it. All the time that has passed, satellites could've dropped from orbit. Maybe some enterprising young wastelander might find the "USSA" control center and get some satellites back online and hold the world at ransom... ransom from the enclave...

If there's ever a Fallout game set in China, there should be a random encounter of an ICBM around a date that the Lone Wanderer may have triggered the launch in Fort Constantine.

The missle could have accidentally hit the Alien Recon Craft that drops the Firelance, but I just wish that it could be used to fire upon any facility, like Tenpenny, or Vault 87, the base itself, etc.

Guns and Bullets ?[]

Got two examples of games in which the copy of Guns and Bullets mentioned here does not exist, at least not on the queen-sized bed as advertised. Any confirmation either way? Is it another item that appears in a random location?

I still do not see the Guns and Bullets book on the queen size bed. What do you mean by "but finding the freaking bed was the challenge...?" There are two doors into the CO Quarters not counting the basement door and I see a single queen sized bed near the back door, and no book anywhere in the area. This is my third play-through and I have never found it.

The Guns And Bullets is kinda hard to see due to it being a similar color as the bed, although it could be a random load, it was on both of my runs so far.

I can't find the guns and bullets and i look all over the C.O. Quarters, i found everything else but the magazine Darkzide
I'm having the same difficulties with this supposed guns and bullets on the bed, maybe it easily bugs out and falls through the bed.. :(
  • I'm with you guys. NEVER have I been able to find it. That cryptic ""but finding the freaking bed was the challenge..." makes it sound like there is another bed in the place, but it is not explained. Would have been nice if it were. I am starting to wonder if it jsut isn't in the PS3 version. Is this the version everyone that can't find it is playing? Will someone just GO INTO DETAIL about where it is, what room, what bed, etc.? There is only one bed and Guns and Bullets is supposed to be on it. However it often glitches and falls through the bed onto the floor, making it impossible to retrieve. PC players can noclip to it with 'tgm' in the console.
I'll make a note about it on the page about the clipping. Some people say the "reloading" a save inside there "Might" make it respawn on the consoles as well from what I have read. Either way it should save some headaches for people that can't seem to find it since there are no notes on the article covering the issue--Jimimorrison 04:20, October 13, 2009 (UTC)

Dave's Special Key does NOT open the door to T-51b Power Armor[]

I have collected all the keys, except for Tenpenny's key since he automatically was killed when I convinced the residents of the Tenpenny Tower to allow the Ghouls to live there. This mean I now do have Dave's key, however the door to the T-51b Power Armor still can not be opened. It only says it requires a key.

This is the Steam-version of Fallout 3. No tampering with console or other problems with quests encountered.

You probably need one of the other keys, like Tara's or you ran into a bug.

Tenpenny does NOT have a key. There are four keys, yes. THREE you get from Crowley's quest, the forth is on Tara, and only opens the door out of the area (for convenience). You need all three to be able to get to the T-51b room.

I am having a similar issue. I am stuck at the first door, but I definitely have Ted's special key. It is listed on my keyring, and the quest says I am supposed to turn in the key.     • Actually there are four keys. Crowley doesn't have a key at all. I found none on his corpse and there was no door which required his key. This is confirmed: only Tara, Dukov, Dave, and Jeff (Ted) have keys related to the quest. 71.190.225.116 13:34, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

Named after General Chase?[]

When you're in Tranquility Lane and you view the Failsafe Program Documentation, General Constantine Chase sends the message to Braun about the Chinese Invasion and how it will affect the simulation and real-world subjects. Is the fort possibly named after the General at the time? Realek 23:54, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

The odds are it is not named after General Chase. First, army forts are referred to by the last name of the person they were named after. So, it would be fort Chase, and not fort Constantine. Second, they don't usually name a fort after you until after you're dead. General Chase's message would indicate that he was most likely still around during the great war. --Stedh 12:28, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Well... General Chase was the general in charge of the Anchorage Reclamation. And, the U.S. had time and money to dedicate a memorial to the war, meaning it was very important to the country. And, Constantine does sound a bit more patriotic than Chase. The fort does seem to be, at the very least, somehow related to Chase, if not directly named after him. No Chamber of Feral Ghouls[]

Is anyone else bothered or disappointed after all the stories of Crowley being trapped in a room full of Feral ghouls to not even find a candidate room for such an event, even if the ghouls were dead or gone by now?

There is a bathroom in the fort that has two or three skeletons and is radioactive, maybe that was the room? It would be kind of hard to believe but who knows. - Bot

Lone Enclave Soldier southwest of the fort?[]

There seems to be a single Enclave Soldier a bit southeast of the fort, near the edge of the map square. This is despite not having reached the point in the game during which the Enclave is introduced. He always seems to be there and can wear normal Enclave Power Armor and Tesla Armor, as well as carry either a Laser or Plasma Rifle. He also carries a random piece of food sometimes. It does not seem to be a random encounter, and the area is not listed as one on the wiki. Is he there for other people as well? If he is, he could be a possible early source of a normal Plasma Rifle and strong Power Armor.--Mehbah 01:40, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Don't know why you'd bother with Power Armour before The Waters of Life, unless you wanted to equip a follower with it. But if you wanted to do that you could just go get either the green or winterized T-51b. PlasmaFox 01:57, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm sure there is someone with a reason out there. If not for stats, then perhaps for looks. Either way, it's a possible early source of a standard Plasma Rifle should you need one for whatever reason, and if it really is a unique encounter, it should be mentioned somewhere, right? The soldier just seems to wait there untill the waters of lifee,when he gets reinforcements,strangely,when i saw this guy,he had a plasma rifle,but no power armor,just a wasteland wnaderer outfit,but he was still marked as enclave soldier,i also encountered another lone solider outside of vault 101 immediately after i escaped it,i saw his awesome armour and plasma rifle,so i pushed him to his death,stole his gear then executed the citadel power armour glitch Werewolfhell 14:38, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

when you launch it go back on the computer and it will say error so it didnt launch its just an easter egg

There was an enclave eyebot near him when I found him (if that means anything.) Ofcourse the eyebot went hostile when I killed the soldier.

Can you get keys back from Crowley?[]

I spoke to Crowley in the 9th circle, after killing Dukov and Dave - but before starting "You gotta shoot them in the head"...

Now I need their keys to loot Fort Constantine - any ideas on getting them back? Can I successfully pickpocket Crowley?

Follow him outside of Underworld when you've finished the quest. You should be able to take them from him.

  • You can defiantly Kill Crowley once he leaves Underworld. You just have to be quick and ready because he will run fast for the metro.

ICBM Launched, but where did it go?[]

As of 12:34am, I, Mix Bouda-Lycaon has sucessfully launched the ICBM. Fuck if I know where it went.

I uploaded all the satillite navigational data from NW-05a into it's computer of that station. I beleive this gave the ICBM the correct path to guide the missile.

I will replay through the event again to see if it can occur twice, then make an article here.

The missiles that fall near the Satcom area are not the ones from Fort Constantine. Firstly they can be launched before you even go to the Fort, and as another note the terminal in Fort Constantine states that its ICBM armament is all but depleted-or somthing along those lines- thus I wouldn't think it plausable that the number of missiles launched could have possibly have come from the Fortress-they also appear to be much smaller than the one in Fort Constantine and have a minute blast radius, thus it would be unlikely that these weapons would be the ones kept in the nations major nuclear armaments, more like on ships for small scale bombardments etc.

Trivia[]

If you examine the note for the ICBM launch codes, you'll see it says Auth(orization) '00000000' at one point. This is, in point of fact, what the launch code for minutemen missiles was for a large portion of the Cold war. Interesting bit of trivia, really. since united states was against china, thhat the chinese were enemies with u.s, so the warheads had to be directing to one of the major cities in china or the delta x rocket a.k.a warhead landed in vernon square or somewhere where the warhead landed in the area.

Missile Launch Error![]

I returned to the ICBM terminal after supposedly launching the missile, and it now reads "Missile Launch Error!" I guess it doesn't do anything after all.

They should have it so that if you can find the nav codes or w.e you can upload them to the computer and fire the missile. Then if it hits China or W.E. there should be a tiny message that says," Congrats!! you hit China with huge a** ICBM! too bad you were to dumb to do it 200 years ago and save everyone's lives!

Remove ICBM Crash Reference[]

The ICBM in the DC ruins is in Vernon Square(in a crater at the sewer entrance), but from what I've heard about it though, it's always there and isn't related to the launch at Fort Constantine. Quoted from the falloutwiki delta ix rocket page. I believe I also read this somewhere in-game. So, it in fact has become an ICBM.

bugged fort[]

so i went to the fort once before getting any keys, when to dave (who was in old olney) and after that i try to go back or fast travel it loads then goes to black screen and "freezes" any one else had this problem?

Fort Constantine Bomb Storage[]

Why is the bomb in Megaton the same as the bombs in the Fort Constantine bomb storage? Was there some funky shit going down?

True, the first-alert bombers are stationed in and around Europe. Maybe it was for any enemy submarines around the coast? Or it could have been like what the Israeli's did during the war in the '70s. They had a single bomber flying around with a nuclear weapon to be deployed in the event the country was taken over. A kind of "if we can't have it, no one can"-type deal. If your talking about the planes that make up megaton, they were taken from an airfield close to the crater. I have no idea where it mentions a bomber crashing in megaton and subsequently being turned into a town. As far as I know, it never really explains where the bomb came from.

Perhaps Chinese special ops got their hands on one and somehow failed to arm it for deployment. It wouldn't be the first nuke 'lost' by the US. I'm curious how a crater that size appeared; and how an intact nuke happened to land in the middle of it.

Dogmeat Glitch[]

  • If you have Dogmeat with you, when you get to the area where the bombs are, he will help you fight any hostile robots in the area. Once these robots are dead, he will disappear. If you try to go to another area (I. E. go through a door that leads to the wasteland) the game will freeze. If you try to load a save that places you in that general area the game will freeze. This occurred on the Xbox 360 version with no additional content.(Unconfirmed)

I had this happen to me too. I shot at a robot and dogmeat disappeared. I thought I had killed him but it didn't say anything about that. Now every time I try to leave it freezes up when I step outside. Is there a way to fix it? (I'd REALLY hate having to load up an earlier save, the last one was like 3 hours back -.-)

  • I also experienced the Dogmeat glitch; no matter what door I used to exit after leaving bomb storage, the game froze upon loading the parking lot. I loaded a previous save and sent Dogmeat to Vault 101 before encountering the robots and was able to leave Fort Constantine successfully. This occured on the XBox 360 GOTY edition.

  • There is a glitch where the T-51b Power Helmet will not appear in the stasis field, but instead spawn in the vicinity of the stasis field, on the ground around it or in the hallway.

(Very Hard) door in Bomb Storage[]

When I opened the door to grab all the Assualt Rifles and other weapons, none of them appeared. The shelves were bare except for the ammo boxes. Has this happened to anyone else or is it just a fluke? I've gone through here several times in other playthroughs under a variety of conditions and this has never happened. PS3 version. So I gave crowley my keys to complete the quest.

We got to the vicinity of the CO offices entrance and he started to attack me.

I killed him, took the keys and entered after looking around.

I too was interested in the ICBM, but I'm happy with my power armour I suppose.

Tenpenny's Weapon[]

I think we should remove the part in the article that says, the weapon Tenpenny was after might have been the Fatman or the armor. It does not make sense. Why would Tenpenny pay them if they never retrieved the weapon? They also already had the keys to that room so they probably took something else out of it. Any objections?

Who owns the Queen-sized Bed in the CO Quarters?[]

I noticed the Queen-sized bed in the CO Quarters is owned (sleep text is red, and it says "you can't sleep in an owned bed" if you try to use it); who owns it? Does Crowley move in if you give him the keys or something, or is it just a bug/oversight?

Owned things don't necessarily have an NPC which 'owns' them. I suppose this example is just a design oversight. Mcelf 22:52, April 8, 2011 (UTC)

Maybe it's a 200 years old ghoooooost... Boooooo... Seriously though, it's probably a design change, maybe they planned to have Crowley move in but cut it and forgot about the bed.

The Stasis Field Control Terminal[]

I'm not sure why my note was deleted. There is loads of speculation on that level in the notes all over this wiki. Might it have been more prudent to state it in a non-speculative way, if it's really such a big deal? The wiki doesn't gain from omitting the interesting tidbit entirely. That sort of stuff is all over this wiki. Which is good, because it can be interesting.

At any rate, the terminal does say 'Medical Prototype', from which it follows to a near-certainty that, either in-game or in development, that armor-holding field was intended for the medic power armor.

Is it really better without the speculation? Obviously the room was designed with the intent of housing the medic armor. This is noteworthy. Are the two most likely explanations for this not also noteworthy?

Isn't it possible Tenpenny hired the men to get the remote detonator (the one you use to blow up megaton)?

It'd make sense, considering the nature of the fort.

I never even considering 'NOT' shooting Crowley in his Mister maggot rot face hole.

Taking it all & the prize armor off him after.. That seems like weak gaming to me.

Oversized Chessboard?[]

Hi there, I don't know whether or not this has been mentioned before, but in the Personnel Offices, I happened upon a small room containing a desk, and some misc items. However, on top of the desk there was a larger-than-average chessboard. If someone could confirm this, that would be great, thanks.

Clipping issue at personnel offices[]

One of the bigger, more obvious clipping problems (in a game that isn't exactly low on them!) seems to be at the northwest corner of the Fort Constantine Personnel Offices. Walk into the corner, and you go pretty much right through it and see the placeholder interior model of the building. Is this noteworthy enough to throw in the bugs? While I've seen other clipping issues, I've never run into one that easily findable or replicable. (This is on X360, for reference; can't speak to any other versions.) I can confirm this on the PS3. This is the north-western exterior corner of the building - it's a concave curve. If you walk into it, you clip inside the empty shell of the building. I got stuck and had to fast-travel elsewhere. 146.90.47.236 14:46, June 9, 2018 (UTC)

Locations of the mini nukes?[]

I found the two on the table with the Fat Man. The way it's written, it implies there's a third in the same room as the power armor under a table and a fourth near a desk somewhere, neither of which I found. Could this be cleared up a bit? Obax42 (talk) 05:05, March 6, 2016 (UTC)
