Not Able to Hand in Tags anymore?[]

Possible bug? On the 360 version I've managed to get into a situation where I cannot hand in tags to her any more. I can ask about the tags, get given the background information about them, but I'm never presented with an option to hand in tags. (This is after previously handing in 3-4 tags to her, the option is now gone.)

I can no longer hand in the tags to her. This happened just after downloading Broken Steel. - Dweller93 22:45, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
I'm sure you're just not looking at the right option, make sure you select the "I wanted to ask about the Holotags" option, it's in there. That might be why you're not getting the option to give her the tags. --Clean Up 13:14, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
I've gone through every possible conversation with Jameson but still no way to turn in Holotags. I installed Broken Steel just before I finished The Waters of Life with this latest character. In the past I was able to turn in tags with The Pitt and OA installed.
Same problem for me, on PC. After exhausting every possible conversation, she still won't take the Holotags. "I wanted to ask about the Holotags" eventually just ends up back at the main question tree.
Same on PS3 after Broken Steel DLC.
I installed Broken Steel on the PS3, and after completing Take it Back! she's taking them just fine for me.Keemonto 22:43, September 27, 2009 (UTC)
I have BS installed and am past the take it back quest, but I still cant turn in holotags. She keeps going back to the same dialog tree from the start of this quest. - Redmess 11:52, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

Same for me,on PC with Broken Steel.I have even tried enabling and disabling her,but nothing works. 201.82.16.62 00:11, April 15, 2010 (UTC)

I believe I have a console command fix for this issue on PC. Looking at the technical information for the quest under the EDID "FreeformDC", in the linked script there is a variable, "PlayerDogtagCount", which appears to not be updated. Using the "set" command to force a value of 1 enables the dialogue option, and as far as I can tell makes the quest work normally afterwards. This would also explain how users who installed Broken Steel after starting the quest faced no problems, as the value would already be initialized. --96.52.193.71 08:22, April 24, 2015 (UTC)

More interesting rewards.[]

Has anyone actually gotten something more than caps? In my peaceful travels, I've actually collected over a dozen tags (at least ten before I was able to turn them in). She just paid me... do we never get anything interesting? --DarkJeff 10:32, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure myself. I've given a number, but have yet to receive anything outside of caps. Not sure. --MercZ 04:28, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

I've turned in ~50 tags from massacring everyone in the citadel and more, and not gotten anything interesting.

"not gotten anything interesting"? so you DID get something other than caps after some time, right?

I've never gotten anything but caps. I bet they just forgot to implement the "something interesting" part. When I first heard Scribe Jameson's speech I thought she'd end up giving laser pistols, etc... but doesn't seem to be the case at all. 72.235.91.236 09:29, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

XP awarded as well as caps[]

On the Xbox360, Scribe Jameson gives 25 XP per holotag (in addition to the 100 caps). The XP bonus is not mentionned anywhere in the main article, nor on this talk page. So is it just my game then? Theicla 03:29, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

I just got 175 exp for turning in 7 tags, (25 exp each), so I can confirm this also happens on the PC. Seraph of Hate 17:31, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Reference to gone with the wind[]

When Scribe Jameson asks the player to if they want to hear the story necessary to starting this quest the player is presented with response three options.

1 Sure, I’ve got all the time in the world.

2 How about we skip the story and you just tell me what you want.

3 Frankly, I don’t give a damn.

The last one is a refrence to the ending scene in the film Gone With The Wind in which Rhett Butler says to Scarlett O'Hara the famous line

"Frankly my dear ,I don’t give a damn."

You can watch the scene here .

That seems a little far-fetched. "I don't give a damn" is an extremely common figure of speech, and prefacing anything with "frankly" warns the listener that what you're about to say isn't getting sugar-coated. A Google search of "frankly, I don't give a damn" does turn up lots of references to Gone With the Wind though.
Maybe it's just that I've never seen or read Gone With the Wind, so frankly, I don't give a damn. But I have a hard time asserting "it's a reference!" just because it happens to be very similar, when the alleged reference is basic English that's been said by millions of people. I've never even heard of that being a movie line.
Similarly, "I've got all the time in the world" is used in Man of Fire, The Shawshank Redemption, and others, but I wouldn't jump to the assumption the first dialogue option was a reference to any of those. 162.252.201.32 05:00, July 10, 2015 (UTC)
