French[]

Haha cool, du français dans Fallout: New Vegas =). Itachou [~talk~] 16:21, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Wrong gender?[]

Pretty sure this gives a female character increased damage against female targets; I remember seeing Black Widow right next to this one in the perk list in one of the preview videos. --Kris mailbox 17:23, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

I dunno. Play said that Confirmed Bachelor is for men so this must be for women. I don't know. I am now very confused. Tezzla CannonUser Tezzla Dog 17:25, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

What I'm thinking is that there's 4: Lady Killer, for men vs. women; Confirmed Bachelor, for men vs. men; this one, for women vs. women, and Black Widow, for women vs. men. But that's just speculation on my part based on a quick glimpse of a video. ----Kris mailbox 17:35, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Which video ? Itachou [~talk~] 22:17, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

I don't remember which one. It was one of the ones where the reporter was playing from the start of the game, with a 30-minute time limit. --Kris User Hola 22:27, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Yes this is for females only. Confirmed Bachelor is for men only. If you are male, the perk for extra damage against women is Lady Killer. --pongsifu Nov 2, 2010

Yes. The perk confirmed batchelor is the male version of charez la femme. unique dialogue with other male characters and plus 10 damage to them in combat

can someone translate this[]

I was wandering what the literal meaning of cherechez la femme is or if it is just jibberish

why not look it up? --Kris User Hola 11:05, October 15, 2010 (UTC)
I don't think it means what the developers think it means. --Radloach 06:02, October 16, 2010 (UTC)
Though the phrase was coined when lesbianism wasn't quite accepted as passable dinner conversation. It might still be applicable here. 217.211.88.20 12:24, October 17, 2010 (UTC)

In french this sentence is commonly used in a criminal context. Translation is "find the woman" (and you'll find who commited the crime and why). Nothing related to lesbianism.--90.19.94.25 23:29, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

Technically, "Confirmed Bachelor" doesn't imply homosexuality either. --97.83.178.170 03:56, December 4, 2010 (UTC)
Well the article says ""Cherchez La Femme" is a French idiom which translates literally as "search for the woman" and can be understood best as meaning when a man has a problem, there is surely a woman at the source." --Pongsifu 23:49, November 3, 2010 (UTC)
It's also used in the sense that, if a man is acting oddly it's due to a woman. For example if he's acting more foolishly than usual then it's because he's trying to impress a woman. --Radloach 07:07, November 4, 2010 (UTC)

Confirmed Bachelor implies Homosexuality 100%. That's what it means. Jstarsupreme

Increased damage to all hostiles?[]

I just started a new female Courier and took Cherchez La Femme instead of Black Widow and I noticed that all of my DAM ratings are ~10% higher for all weapons. First noticed when Hunting Rifle displayed 50 DAM as opposed to 45 on all other characters. This is like getting two ranks of Bloody Mess for free and a huge bonus compared to the effect of Black Widow. Kara MacNamara 01:56, April 18, 2011 (UTC)

Can anyone else confirm? I am building a starting save with the XP/28 perks exploit, so I am choosing my 28 perks carefully. If this is true, it would be a great perk to add, at least until they fix it. --The.true.samiam 15:09, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

Like the article page says, it's a Pip-Boy glitch, you only make +10% DAM against female. Pip-Boy stats needed to be taken with a grain of salt, because the damage of the weapon will include perks and other variants, so it won't display the real weapon damage, but the final weapon damage. Also, this perk is very usefull in HH, when there's a lot more female fighters than in the Mojave. Brfritos 05:42, June 10, 2011 (UTC)

Combine with Confirmed Bachelor[]

I think this article and confirmed Bachelor should be combined like Black Widow and Lady Killer's articles are. KKotton 02:33, June 22, 2011 (UTC)

Weird : Straight sex is OK for gay males, but heterosexuality is forbidden to females[]

Considering in the game the female courrier can only have sex with other women we can assume the female PC is ALWAYS a lesbian. So, this perk should be given automatically, not as the result of a choice, and should not cost a perk point. By the way, the confirmed bachelor perk is stupid. The gay courrier can have sex only with 1 male NPC but with a lot of females. Why that, if he is not interested in women ? Well, it is possible confirmed bachelor doesnt really mean gay, but nevertheless, the female courrier is still a lesbian and has no choice to be hetero or even bisexual.Croquignol 10:11, July 24, 2011 (UTC)

The perk isn't about who you can and can't have sex with, it's merely for the unique dialogue choices that you can access if you choose it. Yes Man default 10:14, July 24, 2011 (UTC)
What? Benny, Santiago, and Old Ben don't exist? User:Great_MaraUser talk:Great_Mara 10:15, July 24, 2011 (UTC)
Having or not having those gender related perks does not allow or prevent you from having relations with NPCs. That's like saying a gay dude couldn't use his charm to get what he wants from a woman. It doesn't mean he'd go beyond flirting, or that he'd even enjoy it beyond the ego boost, but it's still an option. But more importantly, has it even been confirmed that female PCs can't get it on with male NPCs? This is the first I heard of it. John.gerity 10:41, May 7, 2012 (UTC)
