Demolition Expert should be added to the damage perks, it seems. https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/3sngob/psa_the_cannonmortarbroadside_is_affected_by_both/

British Cannon[]

Since the Fallout universe diverged from real time it is possible that "in more peaceful times" the cannon was a gift from the British and installed on the Constitution. --Radnus 86.84.129.168 17:21, January 14, 2016 (UTC)

Divergence didn't happen until after 1945 though. Great Mara (talk) 17:27, January 14, 2016 (UTC)
Doesnt mean the gun couldnt have been donated after 1945 for what ever reason. I'm merely pointing out the possibilty even though I'm much more inclined to accept and support the note in the article. --Radnus 86.84.129.168 22:28, February 24, 2016 (UTC)

Damage[]

This weapon cannot be modified to increase its damage. Therefore comparing it to a Gauss rifle is misleading. The latter can be modified to hit at least twice as hard and can be legendary to boot. Therefore realistically Broadsider is far inferior to a gauss. It's comparable to Railway rifle (Fallout 4) in damage. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aartamen (talkcontribs) 19:07, May 10, 2016 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Weird Base Damage[]

I'm not sure why, but the Broadsider appears to be implemented in a very strange manner. I decided to add Explosive to it with the console to try and make it more viable, and the damage dropped from 207 (L. 49, full Demolition Expert) to 69.

That piqued my interest, so I gave myself some more and did some testing. The Broadsider's actual base damage number appears to be much lower than the given value, in the neighborhood of 1/6 the displayed ballistic damage number. Adding mods that vary the damage, such as Violent or Powerful, will only add damage equivalent to the percentage of this true base number--Violent on one of my test Broadsiders only brought it from 207 to 215, for example, while Two Shot worked as designed but only raised the damage to 241. Others will make it freak out and drop the damage down to multiples of the true base--Incendiary plummeted it to 34, but Freezing and Plasma Infused worked as intended.

I don't know if any of this is USEFUL information, but I thought it was interesting. I have no idea what's going on with the Broadsider's internals.--DirtyCommie (talk) 03:19, May 19, 2016 (UTC)

Dang, I would remove this but I can't. I figured it out--the mods that were giving the gun grief were replacing the inherent explosive damage with their own effects! While this answers my question, it also gives me something to place on the Legendary weapon effects page...--DirtyCommie (talk) 03:42, May 19, 2016 (UTC)
