ReferenceID[]
Unlike a lot of other characters, Barney doesn't have a permanent reference ID. Instead, the quest creates a temporary instance of him when you get near his house, and thus the his ID will be that of a spawned object starting with 'ff', like ff000cf4, ff000cf2, etc. For more information, refer to quest 001243D6 DN083_Barney, Alias 25. --Xernoc (talk) 19:03, December 18, 2015 (UTC)
After doing the quest I went back after many in-game and real-life days had passed. He's gone. Does he simply de-spawn? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.132.181.170 (talk • contribs) 03:32, 25. Dez. 2015. Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
He's not there[]
Yup, verifying that I arrived there to discover he isn't around, and the gate (which I assume was inaccessible) was wide open. Mctaff350 (talk) 13:14, December 19, 2015 (UTC)
Thanks[]
Thanks a lot for your instructions on how to revive Barney. They were very helpful. --Weas-El (talk) 15:37, July 20, 2016 (UTC)
Behind the scenes[]
- Barney could also be a reference to Father Gregori in Half-Life 2. He has the same name as Barney Calhoun, is the only resident in Salem like Father Gregori is in Ravenholm, sets up traps for non-human enemies in his town, and has a name for his rifle Reba just like Father Gregori's rifle Annabelle.”
How do we feel about this as a possible behind the scenes reference? strong enough or need something more concrete? Sakaratte - Talk to the catmin 20:36, October 16, 2017 (UTC)
