Medicine Stick (GRA)[]

Can the Medecine Stick be used for this achievement? I can only see regular Brush guns listed. Wayw4rd 01:12, November 11, 2011 (UTC)

  • Yep it can

Boone's Hunting Rifle[]

If Boone is still using his default hunting rifle, do his kills count towards this challenge for me?

  • No it doesn't. Companion kills don't count towards ANY challenges. GRA or otherwise.

Survivalists Rifle[]

Does this count towards achievement?

It did not for me (Ultimate edition for Xbox). -- 24.59.189.105 14:47, July 23, 2012 (UTC)

Assassins do not count[]

Notes

Just removed that from the main page, an entire hit squad and it didn't count any of them (tested on xbox360, cowboy repeater). Possibly a glitch related to a specific weapon, platform, randomly counting Legionary assassins, or is some combination of those three, but I doubt it.

Does Fantastic count towards this challenge?[]

If you activate Archimedes I at Helios One and then come back when the Legion has taken over and kill Fantastic, does this count towards the challenge? Fantastic winds up joining the Legion if you activate Archimedes I, so he should count.--68.96.83.55 10:42, October 4, 2012 (UTC)

Silus[]

The page says that Silus must be freed for his death to count on the challenge....but this is not correct. There are several ways where you may get guns into the room...as documented on the quest page for Silus Treatment. For me it happened quite accidentally that Boone clipped into the room, and I was able to get a gun out of his inventory. I have added the caveat to the note that it can be done without freeing him by exploiting glitches. This may be significant to some players who are running out of eligible targets. 74.58.253.155 11:54, November 15, 2014 (UTC)

Well, people keep removing the edit where I added the caveat (37 characters) that it can be done by exploiting a glitch. None of those people seem interested in actually discussing the changes on the talk page here. The fact is that the existing point is incorrect...it is explicitly stating that Silus can only be used for the quest if freed, but this is not the case...it can be done by several methods - and in my case I did not even intend to glitch the game, boone just came in with me. Personally, I would think people trying to protect the wiki would be more concerned about incorrect info being on the page. Personally I find it discouraging that my edits are being arbitrarily removed without consideration...there are a lot of F:NV pages that have not been properly updated since Lonesome Road (I have found quite a few inconsistancies), but I am not going to work on helping if things are just removed pig-headedly. 74.58.253.155 17:06, November 16, 2014 (UTC)

They are being removed because telling someone to go out of their way to exploit a glitch is against the editing policies you should have read by now. If you can't be bothered to read and follow them, then that's your own damn problem. Great Mara (talk) 18:48, November 16, 2014 (UTC)

It was not telling someone to go out of their way to exploit a glitch, it was merely correcting the "note". The note said that the ONLY way to get Silus to count toward the challenge is to free him...but this is simply not true. Perhaps instead of "To use Silus to progress this challenge, he must be released during Silus Treatment, as none of the required weapons can be brought into his cell." something like "To use Silus to progress this challenge(without exploiting glitches), he must..." would clear up the factual error while maintaining the flow of the point. Also, can you provide a link to the editing policy you are referring to regarding the exploitation of glitches? I read a lot about formatting and verb tenses and capitalization...I also saw policies about being civil to other users and to discussing changes on the talk page...but I must have missed the policy you are mentioning on glitches.
