Samuel was the grandson of Phyllis Daily.
Background[]
After his mother's death, Samuel and Phyllis managed to gain entry onto a farm where she worked to keep herself and Samuel sheltered. One night, while on watch, Phyllis blacked out and only came to when she heard a gunshot. She found herself covered in blood, holding a gun with Samuel's body lying before her. When the other settlers heard the shot, they came running and later told her that they saw nobody but Phyllis at the time.[1]
