Randall Gutierrez was one of the residents of Vault 95.

Background[]

Unlike the other residents, Randall was not an addict but an observer placed in the vault by the Vault-Tec Corporation to monitor the residents and the experiment of that particular vault. His primary duty was to observe the other vault residents and ensure that they stuck to their rehabilitation program.[1]

He recorded the results of the experiment was thus far successful, writing that although some residents still struggled with withdrawal, the program helped residents deal with the symptoms and cope with their new life in the vault.[2] He notes that the hypothesis they devised was correct, in that when there is no other alternative, an individual can recover.[2]

On October 23, 2082, five years after the vault had been sealed, he recorded his plans to wait until the populace was asleep and open a stash of addictive substances that had been hidden, subsequently recording their reactions.[2] He records this thoughts on how isolation and removal of addictive substances have been positive for the residents, and the next portion of the research will shed light on what impact the same substances have on the social structure developed.[2]
