The police hat is a piece of headwear in the Fallout 3 add-ons Broken Steel, Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta.
Characteristics[]
The police hat is dark blue of color with a silver-colored badge on the front side. The badge is inscribed with the words "SPECIAL" and "POLICE."
The police hat can be repaired with the Enclave officer uniform, among others, allowing you to repair it easily with Enclave respawns when you run out of police hats. Among others is the merc grunt outfit, pre-War hat, pre-War bonnet, dirty pre-War casualwear, and dirty pre-War spring outfit.
Locations[]
- Old Olney S. Wilson Building:
- One is located on the floor in the office with the safe and two cash registers.
- One in the center of the Old Olney S. Wilson Building. It is accessed by jumping from a ledge adjacent to the fallen GNR billboard onto the empty deathclaw cage. The police hat is next to a skeleton on a small platform at eye level.
Two in the - presidential metro:
- After exiting the hall with a few flags and the art deco sculptures, immediately turn right, where one can be found on a bench.
- By a skeleton on a bench near some of the tracks. After exiting M.A.R.Go.T.'s control room, there will be an American flag. Go that way and turn left towards the tracks. While facing the tracks, make another left. Go towards the caved-in part of the tracks, and near the wall, there will be a skeleton with a .32 pistol and a police hat.
Two in the - Grower's shack. A police hat can be found on top of a television in the
- People's Bank of Point Lookout next to the head of a skeleton with a box of .32 caliber rounds, a .32 pistol and a police baton. There is a police hat just inside of the
- Point Lookout Lighthouse, on the steps about halfway up, near a skeleton. It may clip into the stairs, making it unobtainable. One is inside the
- cryo lab on Mothership Zeta, among a wide variety of junk. One can be found in the
Notes[]
- The adult version of the police hat is contained in Fallout 3's game files but is not actually used in the game. However, Knock Knock and Knick Knack (located in Little Lamplight) both wear the child version. The only way to obtain the adult version is through console commands or the add-ons Broken Steel, Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta.
- It seems the police officers in Washington, D.C. before the Great War used .32 pistols, as police hats are commonly found with .32 pistols next to skeletons.
